Faye, the Sony site has some information regarding the battery, charging- replacement -etc. It would depend on how long and how often you use your player to wether it needs replacement or not.
Sony reccomend at least 2Hrs to charge, but it could be more.
Try www.sony.com have a look yourself.

SOURCE: Battery will not hold a charge

I had the same problem and then went to the website to find that you have to have the off/on switch in ON position. This solved it for me. Hope it's that easy for you too!!!

My Linx 7 tablet keeps dying even if I;m not using it. Constantly needs to charge can I change the settings to stop this

Are you actually turning the tablet off when you are not using it? (Hold down power button until Power Off box appears on screen)? If not, your tablet is constantly using power even with the screen blanked and will drain the battery. You could have a bad battery that is no longer holding its charge. How long can you run the device off the charger continuously? That length of time might indicate the state of the battery. Check the manual for expected battery life, which for a Linx 7 is usually 4 hours or less.

Battery dies

Hello there.

With age (could be only a year old) ; laptop batteries stop 'holding' their charge and will drain very quickly. I am afraid the only sure answer is to buy a new one or similar one that will fit your laptop, and FOLLOW the INITIAL CHARGE instructions that should come with it. If it is not done properly, the battery will not have a long life.

Motorola radius cp200 will not hold a charge

when charging a new battery for the FIRST time, most require a full 24 hours to be properly charged. Failing to do this will drastically diminish the life of the battery. If you did fully charge the battery the first time, another issue is recharging after EVERY use vs charging when completely drained. Battery will develop memory (although the manf. will say other wise). If you charge after every use and have only used a third of the charge, after a few time of doing this, you will notice that the battery will not last as long. Try one more battery in just one raido. Fully charge it the first time and only recharge when COMPLETLY drained. If the battery is still not holding a charge, it is most likly a short in the radio itself. Return it.

Get my galaxy s to stop saying nonsupported battery

Drain the battery completely... Reset your phone. Often this fixes the problem but its likely your battery is weak and it won`t hold a charge for long. If it was not holding a charge well before this happened then i recommend just buying a new battery.

My I pod stopped working

How old is the battery ipod batteries can only be recharged a certain ammount of times before they need replacing

If an iPod appears not to turn on, check the hold switch on the device.

If this switch is activated while the device is off, it will not power on again until the hold switch is turned off.

If that is determined not to be the problem, the battery's charge should be checked. When the battery is no longer holding a charge, the device will not power on, but will show a battery icon on the screen for a few seconds.
If you see this icon while trying to boot up the iPod, just connect it to the USB cable and allow the battery to charge, which can sometimes take up to 30 minutes before the iPod becomes operable again.

If no battery icon appears when trying to turn on the device, try resetting the iPod.
Once reset, the device should turn on, but if it does not, the battery may need to be drained first (by leaving the iPod disconnected from power for up to 24 hours), and the reset procedure tried again.
hope this helps

Battery not holding a charge,

Check the charging rate of your bike, see if its system is charging, if it does charge thn theres somewhere the battery is getting drained out.
In order to see if tht is happenning, switch off everything and thn remove one battery wire on the battery, after doing so try to fix it back and notice if theres any sparks when it comes to the contact of the battery terminal , if so thn theres a drain somewhere in the electricals and wiring.

Good luck.

Can't charge the battery

# New batteries need to be drained by using the camcorder until the viewfinder indicates the battery is empty. Follow these steps: Once the battery has been drained, you may use the charger to recharge the battery. # Consult your manual for the amount of time the battery requires on the charger to get a full charge. # A full charge will be delivered by the charger. # Some camcorders have a Refresh feature, which will automatically drain the initial charge on the battery. This allows the battery to fully recharge.
