Raeda70, No, No, No, This is not the way it works at fixya!! Start off by telling me when you got the monitor and how old or new it is. Then tell me how it was working yesterday or the day before. Tell me if monitor is still covered under the manufacturers warranty. Monitor must be working now!! How else did you get to do this post on fixya? Did you do the flashlight test that every "cold-cathode-fluorescent lamp" back-lit lcd monitor owner should do when their lcd panel goes black or fails to turn-on? Did monitor ever display (show) the Win-desktop screen? If monitor worked before, and it 's not working now, then it's probably got an internal problem with it's "switch-mode-power-supply/CCFL inverter supply and will need you or an electronics technician to troubleshoot and repair it. Read my fixya profile and those of other lcd monitor tech's here on fixya to see if DIY fix is something you want to do. Do an additional comment with more info after you do some reading and can give more detailed "symptom" description. I want to help you. 12fixlouie north of Windy City

Turn on the computer and the proview monitor and I get a good display ... for about 2 minutes then it goes blank so I turn the monitor off and back on again and get a good display ... for about 10 or 20...

The simplest test would be to try another monitor. If it shuts off, the graphics card is overheating, or the PS in the computer, or the processor. If the result is that everything continues as it should, the original monitor is overheating or otherwise failing.

My monitor does not work right. it says vga not support.. its a proview 17" flatscreen..active matrix tft lcd

I suspect your Computers Display settings need adjustments and or a Driver from Proview installed...therefor if you can get on the net, I would look at FAQ's on Proviews Website, i.e:

hope that helps,

Proview 15" screen turns white

probably failure in the LCD controller IC in the lcd controller board. that no signal was sent out to the lcd driver ic thus you could only see white display. A replacement of LCD panel is the best solution. I suggest to bring it to an authorized service center. best regards

Colored lines on screen

This may be caused by the death of a display driver circuit and these might be integrated with the display itself.
The pixels on the screen are controlled by an X-Y matrix and the matrix may have signal lines that are somewhat shared for different screen positions.
I doubt that this is DIY project and the failure can only be located by an equipped and trained tech.
