Sony vaio won't charge new battery

Sony vaio won't charge new batteries, i'm currently on the 4th replacement battery... seems to be a driver issue, battery will work until drained, then will no longer be recognized...
sony vaio vgn-cr410e battery: vgp-bps9 windows ultimate 7 (upgraded from vista home)

Thank you for the comment, I just replaced the charger a couple of months ago and it seems to be working fine. My original battery still reads perfectly, but no longer carries a charge which is why I had to order a new battery. I did find some helpful information here dealing with other people with the same problem:
    http://sarabannerman.blogspot.com/2007/0...

there appears to be a program in the Sony Vaios that rejects non-Sony batteries to keep people from buying Generic. I disabled the program, but I'm still at a loss with the replacement I just received and it looks like I will have to try another replacement. It seems as soon as I run the battery all the way down, it will no longer respond or charge, so I'll be careful not to let the battery drain all of the way if I can help it I guess...

Oh yeah, Sony Support is a joke...

Battery/Ac adapter issues for Sony VAIO Model

So I gather the laptop does not run when the battery is in and the AC adapter is not connected? Laptop batteries tend to ware down over time and will need to be replaced as they end up not being able to hold any charge. Look online for a new replacement of the battery under the model number of your laptop

Sony Vaio P Series Netbook shows its charging but stills stays at 1percent availabe almost 3hours

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

I hadn't charged my Sony Vaio model PCG-61611L for a couple days. Then when I finally plugged it in to charge, it won't turn on. I even left it plugged in for a few days and still nothing. It has...

Try A Hard Reset

Remove the battery and charger/ac adapter/power cord from your Sony Vaio laptop, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to discharge any residual current inside the laptop.

This clears your RAM and is like a hardware reset.

Replace the battery and charger/ac adapter/power cord
and turn your laptop on.

If that does't work try removing ram and reinstall. Sometime this works with these laptops.

My VAIO doesnt seem to charge up when connected to the power supply button at times it works then power depletes very quickly.

How long did your Sony VAIO battery been used? Li-ion battery's life is about 2 years. And you can do a battery capacity correction by your VAIO's Battery management software and to see that if the problem get better. else you need a new Sony VAIO battery.

Sony VAIO VGN-FE770G only runs on AC power, battery not working

This looks like the system is not able to sustain itself on the battery power. I have a doubt here. Is it a new or an old laptop. Either Case we have to suspect the battery charging and battery condition. One another reason could be that the battery contact is not good. But this could be of the least chance as the manufacturing of such devices would be perfect in all standards. Lets check the battery power first.

A sony Vaio never operates if the battery is not detected or the battery is not charging, while the system is up and running, you can see a small picture of the battery in the system tray which is at the right bottom corner of the screen. Run your mouse over the same and you will find a tooltiptext message and you can see if the battery is charging or not. If not, your hardware has a problem. If its charging but the battery charge is not increasing, then you have a battery problem. If its a battery problem and that the system is under warranty, you can well get a replacement for free. Hope this resolves the issue. Good Luck.
