Hi,
I hope you can help! :)
Okay I have a HP 1610 PSC All-in-one printer scanner copier. I have had it for over 2 years now. I think I bought it from a mac store. I use a windows vista system with it now.
When I turn it on - the display shows a flashing loading symbol - the display goes blank and then it lights up again and says "initializing..."
this never changes...
during the whole process the buttons don't work. I press the power button or the cancel (I've tried all of them now) and none of them work.
When I unplug the printer at the power supply to turn it off for a restart I have checked the box midway down the cables and made sure it is pushed in properly. I have taken the cartridges out and put them back in, the colour one on the left and the black one on the right.
It never gets past the initializing stage so it never connects to the laptop.
In fact the purple usb cable is not even attached to the laptop.
I have turned it off and on (unplugged from the mains and re-plugged) with the usb in the laptop and the usb unplugged from the laptop with zero effect on either the laptop or the printer.
I did try leaving out the printer cartridges when I unplugged and re-plugged it and it seemed to act normally, telling me to replace the cartridges - I opened the printer to do so and I got this error message
error: 0x07d54dd6 2005:lib_barracu
That is all I the information I can think of.
Any ideas?
Please help because it's really confusing me!
Reset the product
The error message might disappear after you turn off the product and turn it on again. After you make any adjustments to the cartridges or the printhead, reset the product in order for the error message to clear completely. Follow these steps to reset the product.
Check the product control panel display. If the error message disappears, you are done, and you do not need to remove, clean, and reinstall the printhead.

I'd try un-installing printer, turn computer off (hard boot), and then re-installing. S\Could be a corrupted file but not sure.

DOWNLOAD MINIMUM BASIC DRIVER FROM WWW.HP.COM/SUPPORT
SOURCE: i am using the hp
sounds like a memory error. Try unpluging the printer power and the data cable and plug the power back to see if it makes any changes
