I need to replace the CD-RW on my RX5600. What model number CD-RW can I use?

Try using a cd drive cleaning disk. Costs around 15 dollars.

You can also confirm the same by looking at the drive externally

If it has DVD-RW and DVD-RW DL on it then it can read and write CD/DVDs
DVD - R ROM then it can read DVDs but cannot write.
CD-ROM/ CD-RW cannot read / write DVD

You can buy any rom. all almost all do same work :)

Well a CD-RW/DVD ROM is a CD burner so you really dont need to replace it. Unless you meant replace it with a DVD burner then...

The best thing you can do is go to the Dell website and search your notebook/model number and look for the upgrade drive and buy it from them. If its to expensive search ebay or the web with the info you found on the Dell website (combo drive name + model number) and find one for a cheaper price.

ya it ll work... first change the cd to write mode ..hence not able to burn files...

check both documentation packages for dvd and m/b...that will tell you, no doubt....without the m/b part number or maker, we can't do much for you here
