Question about LG (GCC4243N) CD-RW/DVD-ROM (Combo) Burner

Cd rw/dvd combo drive GCC-4242N WRITING PROBLEM

My cd rw/dvd doesnt write cd. i tried many of the way to write cd but i coudnt. i used most populer burning software i they all didnt write cd. my combo drive read all cds (included blank cds) but still having a problem of writing

The inspiron e1405 notebooks were shipped with 2 different types of optical drives:
8x dual-layer DVD+/-RW
24x CD-RW / DVD-ROM

Hi,
Yes it certainly should be compatible with the CD/DVD drive.

Roxio has it's own burning software included with the program, you will just have to explore the software until you work out how to burn a CD using Roxio itself.


If you want to try another burning program try Nero 9 trial. All you have to do is enter your email address and then download the software. Nero is an excellent bit of software, i personally have never had any problems with it.

I have a pioneer dvd rw dvr 107d. i used converttx to dvd and tried to convert a dvd, it burned it ok but didnt finalise the disc although it says says burn successful, playback says no disc?
So sorry to hear that. You may have a try of some other converter software, such as Wondershare DVD Converter Studio. You can free download it at: http://www.dvd-ripper-copy.com/dvd-converter-studio.html#181.

To burn dvd-r on ASUS CB-5216A CD-RW/DVD-ROM.doest it supports the burninig of DVD-R
have the same same problem unsolved yet. it's not on the software actually, it's in the installation of the drive...

Replacing a cd drive
The 4600 has PowerDVD to play DVDs (You should have the software CD to install it on the 3000) DVD burning software would be Roxio/Sonic, and you should have that CD too.
If you don't have the CDs, then try download.com to download Free player software and Burning software

Cd burning problems
hello sir..i have a solution to your CD burning problem...sometimes if you are not regularly using your CD-RW drive then there are chances of CD-RW lense prob,so please do clean the lense using lense cleaner CD available in the market,even then if you not able to burb the CD then please do reinstall the software which you are using for CD burning...i suggest you NERO software for CD burning which is a user friendly software...

I have a Asus computer and my cd/dvd rw stop working. I can't watch dvd's or listen to any cd's I need to know what's up with my cd/dvd multi-recorder
First try a system restore back to the last date which you remember that it worked. If that doesnt help, you must find out what cd/dvd burning software is in your computer. It may have been corrupted. Oddly enough, you don't need drivers for the CD/DVD drives. They aren't even recognized unless you have a good non-microsoft burning program. Find out what burning software you have--download Belarc Advisor, a free program (Google it) which not only tells you everything in your computer, with model and serial numbers for hardware and all of your software (with their unique codes), but will also inform you if you are missing any needed Windows updates. Once you know what you have, if it came with the computer, you have to seek an upgrade at the computer manufacturer's website, as it may be a special program not related to the burning software purchased from the software manufacturer---go to their website for upgrades.

My dvd r didnt work.
To burn a DVD you need the software to do it, there are quite a few,, I personally use nero recode to backup my videos. LUNCH NERO RECODE , RECODE ENTIRE DVD TO DVD and just follow the onscreen instructions.. you can use google to find software that is confortable to you, they usually have trial versions

F3493a dvd-rom/cd-rw does not read DVD's all the time
go into drive properties and tell it to populate with a dvd in the drive ..and the xp2 will update hardware parameters
