Hi we keep getting error code c6 on the inside unit, we have tried cleaning the filter and resetting the power which helps for about 5 mins then it comes up again and stops working, you cannot turn the unit off, via remote or via the button on the side of the unit. We have 2 of these units and they both have the same error code and will not work, the manual has nothing in there about error code C6. Can you please help as the weather is becoming unbearable, do I need to call someone in. We have only had these units for about 14 mths.
thanks in advance.
We bought a set of 20 units. 5 of the units have these split systems in them. The tenants have reported this problem with 5 out of 5 of them. The units are great until they turn themselves off and show the error code C6.
Haven't approached anyone before now and not in a situation to be experimenting with them. Don't know where to go for help on this one. Starting here.
Hi,
The first thing i'll say is you will need to get it repaired by a technician and i strongly recommend you not to do it by urself.
Remote control units have diagnostic program in the
control, after 3 to 5 minutes of operating if the diagnostic
tools detect abnormal operation, then its shutdown the unit
to protect from damage. Thermistor sensor is one of the
parts that detect the operation of the unit. Out of range
or defective thermistor can shut the operation of the unit.
-
If your indoor and outdoor is clean start the
unit in cool mode and monitor the outdoor pipes. If your suction pipe is icing
or dry then your unit is under charge, but if your suction is cold and sweating
then the system is ok and sure that the thermistor sensor is defective.
-
Out of range thermistor sensor in both return
air and freeze up sensor can cause the tripping “off “ the unit.
Goodluck..
14 months old, may still be in warranty, and 5 out of 5 of your split systems exhibiting the same error code leads me to believe that yours aren't/shouldn't be the only ones with this problem.
Contact the retailer/wholesaler where you purchased them, as you should be considered a valued customer (considering you purchased 20 units) and I'm sure they will/should be anxious to correct this issue for you ASAP.
I searched the manual that IB4G2008 posted for you and found no mention of error C6 for your LG LSC183VMA systems there or any other troubleshooting resources for that matter (seems odd since you are having 5 for 5 with the same issue).
Good luck.
PS: I am an card holding EPA certified Refrigeration Tech. and believe IB4G2008 probably is also.
EC-06 =
Indoor unit coil sensor fault. Disconnect from PCB measure resistance.
You need a service / repairman to this thing.

I found some more info here
According to this guide, it looks like you may need to call a service person to check them or you can try to do it yourself.
Good Luck.
Oooooohh..this is a doozy...LG is really hard to get information from, and loads of locations DO NOT have trained service folks. Where are you anyway?
click here for the fixya available manual..there are troubleshooting steps there
