Can my JVC GR-DVL300 be connected to an iMac and can my videos be uploaded to iMovies?

  • Anonymous Mar 10, 2010

    two questions -
    What's a 'JVC Everio"?
Do I need a special cable - one end for the GR-DVL300 and the other a USB for the iMac? My GR-DVL300 didn't come with this kind of cable.

I could not locate a software for mac...I guess the model is kinda old..anyway this is the driver software for windows up to windows XP...and the way to do it ..is to transfer them into a windows xp computer ..get them on a usb flash memory stick ..and put them wherever you want...even in mac ..cause video files are universal and independent of the operating system ..
I will still look for a software to operate on mac though...

I have got my uncle`s Mini Dv JVC GR-DVL300 EA without driver to connect to my laptop running with Vista please also advise me where/how can get a cable to connect that camera to my laptop thank you

The cable is a firwire 4-6 or 4-4 pin cable. Check your computer for the type of firewire socket it has. Most newer laptops have 4 pin.
These are available at most places that sell computer gear.

JVC GR-D275U Driver for mac

You would need to use iMovie. Most MacBooks come with this already installed but if you can't find it you might have to buy it from apple's website. All you have to do is open iMovie with the camera connected and on and import the movie into iMovie, then you can edit the way you want it to be. iMovie has some great tutorials as well. Importing and editing can take a while, however.
