MY LCD monitor is diplaying the message since morning says Contrast/Brightness at the same time showing DCR On . The Exit and Select button also not working diplayed in the message. What i can do ?

To help you change the brightness and contrast settings from the LCD monitor, please follow the instructions mentioned below,
The control buttons are located at front panel of the monitor. The Brightness Button is used to select the Brightness/Contrast adjust functions. Press to switch functions or adjust settings.
To decrease the brightness or contrast press (-) button & to increase (+) as per your adjustment.

Push the 'OSD' ("On Screen Display") button on the bottom-edge of the monitor.
Use the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select BRIGHTNESS or CONTRAST.
Use the OK button to choose that selection.
Use the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to decrease/increase the BRIGHTNESS.
Use the OK button to confirm the setting.
Use the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select CONTRAST.

sugars_30, You or electronics technician will need to (most likely) fix the units "switch-mode-power-supply" !!! Do some extensive reading in my fixya profile and follow the links to other "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp" back-lit lcd monitor tech's here on fixya. They and I already have written tons of stuff that will help you to understand the problem you have. When "strange stuff" starts happening with a ccfl lcd display, the first place to look is at the innerds of the monitor. Just do some reading!!! 12fixlouie

you can adjust the contrast and brightness of the screen accordingly using the following instructions. Please select the right combination of brightness and contrast according to your desire.

• Please check out controls in the bottom of your monitor, below the scree. I have provided the image below for your reference.
• 
• In this the fourth option is OSD menu. Please click on it and you will scoll down to options .
• you can see options called "brightness and contrast". I have added picture for this too!

Once you go that page,use the menu to enter! then use the 2nd and 3rd button to adjust the brightness. Now your job is done.Please click on 1st button to exit. If you need more assistance in this, please write back to us. Please rate my solution as helpful!

Try pushing the buttons for the brightness if it does the same thing you need to replace it, the buttons might be damaged already by pushing too hard or it got stuck.
If this is just a new LCD monitor about 1 to 2 years old contact tech support of dell so you can get this replaced.

I had same problem. The solution I got was to unplug power cord, and hold down each switch on monitor for 30 secs and switch on. IT WORKED! Hope it helps you too.,

1. Press the MENU key.

2. Press the < or > key to select the BRIGHTNESS icon from the menu (looks like a little sun).

3. Press the MENU button again to enter the BRIGHTNESS menu.

4. Use < or > to select appropriate brightness.

5. Press MENU button to exit.

5. To exit - select the EXIT function from the menu and press MENU button again.

Sound like either the button is stuck or the display is in error.

press and wiggle the buttons carefully, and disconnect the power to the display.

The front panel switches are known to become leaky.You need to replace these switches.

It looks like your UP button contact is demaged.
SOLUTION is to insert a piece from your business card mostly above the button to adjust it down or up. It works fine.
