Hi there! Disassembling the cleaner beyond detaching the nozzle, wand and hose is not recommended. If you need further assistance we recommend taking your cleaner in to a Hoover authorized service center for inspection. Follow the link to locate the nearest service center to you. This is normally caused by restricted airflow, causing the heat sensor switch to trip. Please make sure the hose and bag are not clogged, verifying you have good suction and airflow to the hose end when you initially turn it on. The heat sensor switch is intended to shut off the motor if sufficient cooling air is not present.
Sounds to me like there is either a loose wiring in the pedal or mains power cord. Check that the plug is secure. Check both filters though - one behind the bag (usually square and slides out) as well as the main exhaust filter at the back between the power on and cord rewind button. I used to own many Telios models but they are known to have cheap shearing cords which can only be replaced by a Hoover repairer. Sometimes the On pedal can be affected as well particularly if it has been stamped on heavily.

http://www.geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=618732&thid=562398 Vacuum won't stay on posted by trobinson66 on May 01, 2008 I think the switch is broken--it will come on, but the switch does not stay engaged. I'd like to try to fix myself, if possible. Any thoughts? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Telios Canister Vacuum Powerteam When you uninstalled the switch did you mark the wires to duplicate the procedure in re- installing the part, it is possible that you have a bad switch, please check your owner’s manual for the trouble shooting guide to see what you might have done wrong. If the switch is wired correctly it should work, but one wire could be off and not connected correctly then the switch will not work. Feel free to contact your local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.hoover.comTelephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST Thanks,Don – The Vac Man Go Ahead.Use Us.
