Cannot find the motor shaft cover for a model DLC-8 any idea where to buy it. That is a Cuisinart food processor....

Sounds like the Motor's Start Capacitor needs replacing. It gives the motor a big jolt of power to get it running.

Yes it does. It is a snug fit on the blade shaft, if you mean the tall shaft that powers the shredder discs? The short one that holds the cutting blade is not removable.

The DLC-8F bowl will not work for the DLC-8M, as I understand the parts list for the 11 cup food processors. However, this site, https://www.kitchenworksinc.com/cuisinart-dlc-8-4-piece-tritan-bowl-kit/ , has a work bowl for the DLC-8 food processor. If you already have a lot of attachments for this model, I would purchase a used motor unit. I got a complete setup at a yard sale minus the work bowl cover for $3 as a spare, and often see them at thrift stores priced quite inexpensively. You could also check ebay. Motor units routinely go for less than $25 including shipping. I'm pretty sure most dcl-8 series motors will work with you bowl and attachments. I like the quality of the older units better than the newer ones. And if you watch ebay closely, you can pick up a lot of pieces really cheaply. Good Luck,

I had the same problem: Cuisinart sent a "replacement" sheath for my DLC-8E which turned out to be the wrong one. When I replaced mine,which was cracked, none of my blades would fit over the new sheath! I "solved" the problem by purchasing a new DLC-8E motor base on Ebay for only $9.99!

The Motor Shaft Cover parts are not shown on the Cuisinart website under parts, but they are available if you call Customer Service. These parts are quite inexpensive (often $3 + s&h). Have your model number ready, and they can get the right one out to you.

Buy replacement plastic bowl of Cuisinart DLC-7P is Cuisinart DLC-005AGTX-1 work bowl 14 cup.

Go to the cuisinart website and you can buy replacement parts. You will have to buy the entire shaft not just the top but it is still good!
