Re: The pairing light on my HS850 soes not come on?
You have to start with the boom closed and press the large button with the phone symbol until the blue light comes on, then open the boom before the light goes out and you should be able to pair it with your phone.

Hi,to complete the look of a tech-savvy, iPhone-using individual, you must have a Bluetooth headset to accompany it. You can pair any Bluetooth headset with an iPhone. The Motorola HS850 is no exception to this. Both Motorola and Apple's Bluetooth set-up process is fast, so you'll be talking with people through your new Bluetooth on your iPhone in a matter of minutes.
Instructions
Charge the Motorola HS850 headset fully before attempting to pair. Usually, it takes two to three hours to charge the headset.
Press and hold the "Call" button (has a phone icon on it) on the headset for six to 10 seconds. The outside LED light will turn on indicating that the phone is in pairing mode.
Choose "Settings" on the iPhone homescreen.
Select "General," then "Bluetooth."
Select to turn Bluetooth on.
Wait for the phone to search for in-range devices.
Select theMotorola HS850 from the list of devices.
Enter the headset passkey to complete the pairing. By default this is "0000."
First fully charge bluetooth.close bluetooth flip/turn on power by press button in the midle and open flip look blue light not flashing ok for pairing.if not do again and again, pairing only light stay on no flashing. In phone go to bluetooth function/bluetooth turn on/searching devider ok/enter 4 zero ok.sucessful for pairing.
The light is supposed to go off when fully charged. With the boom closed, press & hold the main button until the blue light comes on (about 3 seconds) then release the button & open the boom. The light stays on, and the bluetooth is now in "pairing" mode. Search for it with your phone. The password is 0000 (zeros).
UGH I had such a hard time with this, because it isn't clearly explained. So here is a solution that should work (it worked for me!):
1. Go to Settings, Bluetooth, and Go to the "Paired Device" menu and leave it open. When it asks to turn BT on, you can do so. 2. This is the part here that screws everyone up. Take the headset and press and hold the multifunction button. KEEP IT HELD DOWN! The light should turn on and stay on. While you are holding it, open the microphone. The light should have been on while you were doing this and still be on. If it didn't stay on the whole way try again from when the mic is closed. 3. Remember the "paired device" menu? Select "New" and it will auto search for the headset. 4. It should be found quickly. The headset (that you should still be holding down but with mic open) will blink, then your phone will ask if you want to pair with Motorola HS850. Say ok, then it will ask for passcode 0000. 5. The headset will blink and the phone will say it was successful, and ask if you want it to be turned on. Say yes and make a test call. It should be fine from there. Hope it helps!
I bought a new HS850 and guess what, I got this hearing problem on the very first day ...phew ! I did the pairing with my Motorola A1200 phone and it worked for once, even the sound was coming in the earpiece and then I put it to charge for the first time and once done, I again started it up and it got connected with the phone and after that there was no sound in the ear piece. I was going nuts....about what could be the problem.
So i decided to delete the earlier paired profile from my phone and do the pairing again and guess what...It Worked....:) So you can try that out too....
have ya phone ready to almost pair. Then on the 850 ear piece press the call button until lit and then open boom up and press the phone pairing ok button and the 850 should work. waaala!
See how easy that was.
go to bluetooth on ur phone and select Hs850 delete device. then hold multifunction button until blue then open boom search for new devices from thee cell.
No, living outside of your cellular "home area" has nothing to do with the bluetooth pairing. You're problem is a common problem. Lots people have this problem you are not alone.
So, here is what I suggest.
1. Make sure both the headset and the phone are fully charged.
2. Delete the "device" from your phone. I mean precisely that. Go into you cell phone's bluetooth settings and erase your "HS850" from it.
3. Try re-pairing it. Put the phone and the headset in pairing mode and allow it to sync.
This should do it. I always works for me. You usually only need to pair once and every time you use the headset all you should have to do is connect it. I hope this works for you.
Good Luck.
You are not alone in this endeavor. A lot of people have this problem.
