Question about Motorola Mobility HS850 Consumer Headset
I just bought a Motorola HS850. I am trying to pair it with my cell phone. The instructions tell me to hold the call button down until the light comes on steadily..and when it does, I am to open the boom and release the button. Making sure that the light stays on. But my light does not stay on. It only comes on for about 20 seconds and then goes off. Does anyone know what could be wrong with this product?
You hold the button with the boom closed and as soon as the light stops blinking you realease the button and open the boom, the light should remain on and steady. promt your cell phone to find it and the code is 0000

I got mine 'over the net' as the last person put it and it seems to work fine, It's paired with a Samsung A900, an Audiovox PPC-6700 and now an Apple iPhone with no problems. All work fine when holding the button down until the light comes on, then opening the boom. If you try to detect it from the phone it will find a headset or HS850 for use. If you use the 0000 code it will connect. My only complaint is that it won't pair with more than 1 phone at once. multiple phones can be in the profile of the HS850 but you have to disconnect and connect from each phone

Hs 850 pairing problems..i have just found the answer to most peoples problem regarding the ear peice light not staying on so that the light stays solid..when reading for pairing...
Well the trick seems to be when you push the button to turn it on..as soon as the light starts ..then open the boom asap...
and it should stay on ready for pairing....i have had a problem get my hs 850 to ready for pairing and then found this answer on the net and it worked straight away for me know problems..so i hope this help you all ..

Hold on to the call button. When the blue light appears, open the boom and the light will stay there steadily. Pair the device and key in 0000

ONE WORD....CHARGE IT BEFORE YOU USE IT...WHILE THE LED IS CLOSED START HOLDING THE MAIN BUTTON TILL A BLUE LIGHT IS ON...AFTER THAT OPEN THE LED AND SEARCH FOR IT ...THE ITS GONNA PROMOTE A CODE ... PRESS 0000 ...EASY

Pairing works just fine by pushing the button until the light comes on, THEN opening the mic boom... if you open first or push as you open, the light will come on steady for a few seconds, but this is NOT pairing mode.

When i need help to find the way how to make the blue tooth work i didn't understand what you do is hold the blue tooth and press the call but the light should come for about a couple sec when it comes on befor the light gose off opean the boom it should stay on (don't try to opean it when the light is off or it's not going to pair) then when the light is still on and the boom is open opean your phone and press the botton that says look hands free than it should open it to a page that say than press look for devices it should find it and now it works have fun ;-)

HS850 did blink when holding the button. When released the light would go out in few seconds. When I open the boom as soon as the light came on it stayed on. Pair with the phone, entered code 0000, works great. The HS850 almost hit the trash can. Thanks very much for the help. Comment..the HS850 is tough unit. Before pairing this last time I had to super glue the pivot point on the boom. So to other owners don't give up.

Here's a *hopefully* silly question..... does it pair with the cell phone or not? Nowhere in your original post or your additional comment do you say if your device does or doesn't work... just that it doesn't work the way you want. It seems you are saying that it connects for 20 seconds, then the light goes off, and the connection quits too? that would surely be a different problem than one that doesn't connect at all. The real reason for my concern is, the way you wrote the complaint in the first place, it sounds like it connects just fine but the lights don't work the way you would like. Who cares how the light works..... Please be clearer with the complaint if you want a quick and correct solution. thanks for making me smile none-the-less!

Had same problem, got headset over net. It was junk! I bought a new one at Best buy, and you can guess what I did with the old one!!

Once you hold the button with the boom closed, and the light is on! Then you open the bloom and it works!
