I have hp dv2000 series laptop with model no dv2401tu. i installed window vista and audio driver but here is no sound output

I dont know exact model of your dv2000 hp laptop is, there is many versions of them (as an example HP Pavilion dv2401tu).

Microphone drivers are part of the sound driver package. Suggest if you are running 7, go for the vista drivers. 7 32bit, vista 32bit drivers. 7 64bit, vista 64bit drivers.

Windows update is another option for finding sound drivers for the microphone.

Suggest reinstall the audio driver.

Stating HP Pavilion dv2000 is just stating the model series.
When installing a Driver, there are TWO main things needed;

1) Operating System (Which version of Windows)
2) Model number
For HP and Compaq computers we will go with the Product Number.

On the Bottom of the laptop is a white Service Tag.
P/N = Product Number

Please post back in a Comment, and I'll step by step you through downloading AND installing the audio driver.

Also go to Device Manager, and look to see what audio device is used.

WinXP:
Start > Right-click on My Computer > left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.
Left-click on the Hardware tab. Left-click on Device Manager.

In Device Manager, left-click on the + sign to the left of -
Sound, video and game controllers

What does it state?
Intel?
Conexant?

Win Vista:
Click on the Windows logo button (Start), then right-click on Computer. Follow the above.

there is no download link. you have to reinstall vista and use a vista operating system installation disk.it can be any as long as you use the product key on your comp.you will lose all of your data so back it up.post back if you don't know how.

try re-installing your system audio driver. can you specify what model your laptop is? I hav e a dv2000 series laptop also, but its model is dv2202ca. the model is located on the bottom of your laptop.

go to this site:

then select the proper model, then choose either xp or vista,then look for "Driver- AUdio" and download them, then run the files to re-install your drivers!

go to your motherboard's web site and download the latest drivers, make sure it mateches the right version of your windows.

do you have x86 or 64 version of windows xp in other words do you have a 64 bit processor.
what service pack do you have with windows XP, SP2 ??? or SP3 ???

Best tip is this:
make sure you didnot press "mute" on your laptop (this is often a small button or switch) or set your laptop volume to zero. Also check the volume settings in windows itself for volumes set to 0 or mute.

it will tell you exactly all details about your laptop, including your soundcard details and most probably will give you a direct link to it's manufacturer. There you can mostly download drivers.

You should first install and run a program such as PC Wizard. Look for all the information about the sound chip. then go to driver-downloads.com and hunt for your sound driver.
