No volume icon

Hi

You don't give any details or specifications of either your computer or its Audio/Sound Card/Chip. Please feel free to add a Comment or Clarification to this Question. Please include information about the type, model and specification of your computer and Audio/Sound Card/Chip. Doing so helps us makes faster, more accurate and more assured Remote Diagnostics leading to better quality and more useful Advice, Answers, Guidelines , How-Tos and Solutions.

If by "volume", you mean Audio, then this sounds like an Audio/Sound Driver fault or corruption.

When Audio/Sound Drivers are either not installed or the Audio/Sound Card/Chip is Disabled or Uninstalled in Device Manager, the Windows Volume and Mixer Controls can become Disabled until the Drivers are installed or repaired

Reinstall the Windows XP Audio/Sound Driver for the brand, type and model number of your computer from its Driver and Utilities CD. If you have no CD, download the Drivers and Utilities from the Support & Downloads Page of the computer manufacturer's website.

Since I do not know the details of your computer. I cannot, as I would otherwise have done, provide you with a link to the specific Download Page.

I hope this helps.

SOUND CARD DRIVER FOR INTEL P4 2.4 GHZ

Hello someone_sanj
  1. your motherboard has a packaged CD containing all the drivers needed. after installation of OS (operating system), put the driver CD in your CDROM/DVDROM device. The CD should autorun itself, if not then explore the CD then find "Setup". double click it. if prompted with menus, select best one relating to "Audio"...restart computer after installation and play sound file formats.

Here's the easy way to get or update your sound drivers:
You could try to use this driver scanning tool, which scans the computer for needed drivers and has an option to automatically retrieve them for you.

You can download this free tool from here: http://xpdrivers.com/index.cfm

After you have downloaded the above file, double-click on it and follow the simple steps to install it. Then, when it asks if you want to run it, just answer yes. This is easier than manually searching, downloading and installing the drivers.

If none of the above methods worked PLEASE go to near computer shop.
Hope that helps,
Regards,
Pankaj

No sound after format

More than likely you need the audio drivers.

Try performing a Windows Update, more often than not windows will auto detect the correct drivers and give you the option to install ;)

I have formate my lenevo 3000 y410 laptop 4-5 times, but hanging problem is not solved...in working time it's hang. but safe mode it's working fine. my os is windows vista home edition

If hang up all the time, and done many formats and still not fix, it It may be drivers, remove all drivers device manager, and replace one at a time, rebooting between installs, If that still not working, then it is usually bad hard drive, that needs replacement.

Normally this is installed after a fresh install of windows. However if windows is giving you trouble you can re-install the chip-set driver utility. Than check windows for any updates.

Good luck!

You should install the Chips drivers or intall all the driver in series listed in your CD Utilities. Its good if you download the latest drivers of your system at www.asus.com or here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

You should download for 64x2 drivers.
