Hi three, uninstall the Logitech V220 Cordless optical mouse driver from the laptop and then restart the laptop again. Now install that Logitech V220 Cordless optical mouse driver again . I am sure its will start working. If not then make sure your batter Is properly fixed inside in the mouse & that's fully charged. After those thing if still not working then visit service center, because the mouse censer stop working and its damaged.
Thanks & waiting for your feedback.
Most wireless mice does not have a reset button. They usually have a "Connect" button.
Since you have tried replacing the batteries, try holding down the connect button on the USB receiver and on the mouse at the same time for five (5) seconds and release them. See if that would work.
If not, try connecting the USB receiver into another computer to isolate the problem.
I'm afraid the USB mouses will not work on windows 98, please use the adapter so it fits into a ps2 port. (the old mouse plug) then of course you can check the logitechs website if they offer any drivers for windows 98 but its very unlikely.
so it would be a good time to buy a new computer, yours must be around 12 years old. considering that 5 year old machine is considered old, your 12year old machine is ancient.
The V220 is a quite nice rodent, my favorite. Check 3 things.
1) Is the battery facing the right way? Minus end goes in first. Green LED should turn on for a few seconds after the battery is installed.
2) Is the mouse ON? The switch under the mouse is supposed to turn on automatically when the receiver is removed. This does not always work.
3) Unplug the USB Receiver. Connect it to a different USB port. Run the Logitech Connect utility.
If the mouse still does not work, uninstall the Setpoint software and reboot. It is possible that the driver did not install correctly. After reboot, try Step 3 again.
Setpoint software is only needed if you want to use the wheel click or horizonal scroll features.
If all else fails, try installing your V220 on a different computer.

Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start
flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT
button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the
receiver.
If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button
on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they
should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud
Have you uninstalled it and then reinstalled it? Try downloading the most recent version software online. If you can't download the software, you might have other issues!
I do not have your v220 mouse so I'm unsure if you can replace it with a standard battery. Check it or exchange it from where you bought it.
Good Luck & kind Regards. & please vote.
