Alarm from hell

How do I turn the alarm system to "off"? Not just for snooze or nap; turned down the volume, then ended up with a loud beeping noise at intervals. Had to unplug and remove batteries in order to sleep in on the weekend. HELP!

  • Anonymous Mar 24, 2009

OMG - I just told my husband that this alarm clock is the devil's clock and is a CLOCK FROM HELL! I accidentally hit nap (again) because the darn button is right by the alarm set switches. I'm not an idiot but I can tell you that there is NO way to turn off nap! I took the batteries out, unplugged the stupid thing and NAP is still on. Tomorrow, this alarm clock goes in the trash and this is the last time I buy RCA.

I believe you can turn Nap off by holding the Nap button for several seconds.

There should be a slider button on the side that turns it off

P3015 beep

Here are some possible reasons why your printer is beeping:
1. Your printer is connected to a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). When the printer goes through the printing cycle it uses a massive amount of electricity. During those few seconds of power usage, the UPS will beep indicating that it will not be able to sustain that power output for any period of time.

How to fix: Move your printer to another outlet and don't connect it to a UPS
2. You have an MFP (multi-function printer) that is attempting to fax again and again. When sending a fax, it's typical that the printer makes noises (dialing, connecting, etc). One of these noises is a fax response beep.
How to fix: Check your printers menu and turn off/down the fax volume
3. Some printers with an LCD menu and keypad make noise when keys are pressed or the printer encounters an alarm of some type. This can become annoying when typing keys for a phone number or by changing a menu setting.
How to fix: Check the menu settings for the printer and turn off/down the sound that's occuring. As an example, the HP LaserJet MFP series printers have the following sounds.
  • The alarm sound that the printer makes when it requires attention, such as when the all-in-one
    door is open.
  • The beeps that are emitted when you press the all-in-one control-panel buttons.
  • The phone line sounds for outgoing faxes.
  • The ring volume for incoming faxes.
As an example, change alarm volume by following these steps (using a 305X series printer)
1. Press Menu
2. Use the < or the > button to select System setup, and then press the green checkmark button
3. Use the < or the > button to select Volume settings, and then press green checkmark button
4. Press the green checkmark button to select Alarm volume
5. Use the < or the > button to select Off, Soft, Medium, or Loud
6. Press the green checkmark button to save your selection

I am using my mother's Elgin 3400E travel alarm

On my Elgin alarm clock, you just push the nap button and it will add 15 minute increments for a nap. I haven't figured out how to turn it off if I change my mind or wake up earlier than I set it.

The alert is to loud, how can I turn down the volume for the alert?

Press the WEATHER/SNOOZE button to turn on the weather radio. Then press the "UP" or
"DOWN" volume button to select desired listening level. (Note: Turning the volume all the way
down [where no bars show] puts the radio into silent mode.)

Hope that helps resolve the issue.

I can't get the alarm to go off as the radio.

To turn off, hold down the mode button until the alarm/radio symbols disappear. To turn off nap, hold down nap button. Is the alarm volume controlled by the radio volume?

Manual RCA RP3710A

For the snooze, hold down the snooze button (should display the length of time for snoozing) and hit the time/tune buttons up or down to increase or decrease the snooze time.

For the nap time, press nap and the nap indicator should start blinking. Again, hit the time/tune buttons up or down to increase or decrease the name time in 10 minute increments up to 2 hours.

Turning off "NAP" feature

You have to "double-click" the "NAP" button. And on the second "click," hold it down until the "NAP" light goes off.
That worked for me three times in a row, at least.

Stop beeping at end of wash on bosh machine

When the machine is on, but not running, press and hold the "pre-wash" button. After a few seconds it will begin that beep noise, keep holding it in until the beep volume goes down and finally stops. Once the beep has stopped, release the button and voila, no more annoying beeps at the end of your cycle.

To restore the end of cycle notification (beep) do the same thing as described above, but release the button earlier while the beep is still going.

Snooze alarm

Like everyone else here I have accidentally hit the NAP button and couldn't turn it off. This morning at 2am I accidentally hit it with my husband in bed. I decided one and for all to guide this out. By flashlight and my cell phone i Googled a solution. I came across many, none of which worked. I resorted to trying methods that were posted for other models of this brand of clocks. The solution that I found that worked was to hold down the back part of the NAP button until the seat the time displayed and the nap light off. By back part of the button I mean hold down the tiny section closest to the rear of the clock. I got this solution from instructions for model RP3721A clock. It took me 17 minutes. That's just 3 minutes before the alarm would have gone off.
