Like everyone else here I have accidentally hit the NAP button and couldn't turn it off. This morning at 2am I accidentally hit it with my husband in bed. I decided one and for all to guide this out. By flashlight and my cell phone i Googled a solution. I came across many, none of which worked. I resorted to trying methods that were posted for other models of this brand of clocks. The solution that I found that worked was to hold down the back part of the NAP button until the seat the time displayed and the nap light off. By back part of the button I mean hold down the tiny section closest to the rear of the clock. I got this solution from instructions for model RP3721A clock. It took me 17 minutes. That's just 3 minutes before the alarm would have gone off.

According to the manual, you have to "hold the nap button" until the nap indicator turns off. This seems to work "sometimes". The only certain fix I have found is to unplug, remove the batteries and so reset everything.

I am using my mother's Elgin 3400E travel alarm

On my Elgin alarm clock, you just push the nap button and it will add 15 minute increments for a nap. I haven't figured out how to turn it off if I change my mind or wake up earlier than I set it.

Thinking of getting the TI150 3-in-1 Timer - Can it set to repeat a countdown over and over?

Review at Amazon seems to say the timer can repeat the same countdown each time button is pushed and countdown is activated.

Amazon review says:
http://www.amazon.com/General-Tools-TI150-Visually-Impaired/product-reviews/B001TOJG7Y/ref=dp_db_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
The timer is easy to set. You just set the time, then hit the big "start/stop" button and the little "H" and "M" on either side of the timer display flashes.

To clear the timer, just hit both the "h" and the "m" buttons simultaneously. (so time has to be cleared)
To stop the alarm or to turn off the timer before the alarm sounds just hit the "start/stop" button.

On the back of the timer, there are 4 different on/off switches: flashing light alarm, sound alarm, vibrating alarm, and one for hours/minutes or minutes/seconds.

When I set the timer on my desk, it moved around when the alarm went off but when I turned off the vibrating function, the timer didn't move around.

If you need to turn off both the sound and vibrating alarms and use only the flashing light alarm, the light is quite noticeable by itself if placed nearby in your line of sight (within a foot or so). This would be very handy if you're near a sleeping baby! :) But if you clip it on a breast pocket, I would use both the flashing light and vibrating alarms. The vibrating alarm does make a sound, but it's not as loud as the ringing alarm.

Manual RCA RP3710A

For the snooze, hold down the snooze button (should display the length of time for snoozing) and hit the time/tune buttons up or down to increase or decrease the snooze time.

For the nap time, press nap and the nap indicator should start blinking. Again, hit the time/tune buttons up or down to increase or decrease the name time in 10 minute increments up to 2 hours.

How do I set the sleep timer?

To adjust snooze time - The system is set for a standard 10-minute snooze time (the number
of minutes you can delay the alarm). While the selected alarm is flashing, hold down Sleep⁄Snooze
and press the Time or to adjust the snooze time (from 1 to 30 minutes) for that alarm. The
number of minutes and Sn appear on the display to confirm your selected snooze time. You can
set a different snooze time for each alarm.
