Palm 755p Malfunction

Hard Reset Palm Treo 755p or 700pPalmTreo 755p or 700p.
1. Disconnect the Treo from a charger or USB cable.
2. Remove the battery cover and take out the battery.
3. Press and hold Power/Endwhile you insert the battery.
4. When the screen lights up with the logo appears, releasePower/End.
5. Press Up when the Erase all data? prompt appears.
6. Press Up to confirm the hard reset.
7. Go through the steps of setting up the device again by picking a language and calibrating the stylus.
Now your Treo 755p/700p is hard reset. you should have your info on a folder on your computer. hope this helps.

no your info is still there but you have some app trying to start before the OS really starts but is failing to , then you get this blinking state. your info is still there and there is a somehow undocumented feature in the OS to avoid the palm OS to run any boot time routine, if my mind is right I think it was pressing a specific button while the splash screen is being loaded, now be carefull because with some button you will get the "erase all?" question then if you press the "up" key you DO erase all your data, this is the way out if you do have a backup and if your info between the device and your pc was in sync.

in order to perform a hard reset, you take out the battery. hold the power button and insert the battery.

release the power button when you got palm/access powered. it should prompt you to erase all data. press up to erase and finish setting the device. no need to reinstall the palm desktop software.

send the palm treo back to your provider tell them what is happening they should repair it at little to no cost if it is not anything major.

There are different types of resets that may cure this issue. Try them, starting from a soft reset.

There are multiple reasons for the phone to go into an endless loop.

Fix #1 - Soft Reset - Take out the battery. On the back of your phone, pop the cover off, remove battery, place battery back in and it will show each screen once and power on normally.

Fix #2 - Hard Reset - To do a hard reset, hold the power button while you replace the battery and then release it when the Palm logo appears.

Fix #3 - Hammer

mayb you can try to do a hard reset.
Take out your battery press and hold end call button ( don't release ) then put in your batery wait the loading finished and change to other screen then you release your from the end call button you pressing just now.If still can't work,no choice need to go back to you service center .

I had the same problem, and here is how I fixed it. First, I hit the middle up/down key at the top as it was cycling between Access/Palm, and when it came to Palm, I turned it loose. This got it to go to the regular screen, but guess what....my phone would not work! So, I took it to the local Verizon dealer at Circuit City, and there I asked the guy if he would do a Hard Reset. He did, go the phone back up working again, but of course I lost EVERYTHING. Luckily, I had done a syn not too long before, and instead of telling the long story of what all happened there, I was able to get all the backed up info back onto my phone, and now everything is back to normal. This has happened to me twice (the first phone was replaced as defective, but it could have been fixed the same way). I love the Palm 755p, but be sure and sync as often as possible on your computer. It saves you from having to enter a ton of phone contacts back in manually!
