My Belkin wireless G router does not seem to work any more. If I connect my router to my DSL modem, I am not able to make a connection to the internet via the router to my iMac. However, if I connect the dsl modem to the iMac directly, then I am able to connect to the internet seamlessly, I have tried to power down the dsl modem and the router a number of times, but with no luck. I have even tried a soft reset of the router (via the browser interface using ip address : 192.168.2.1), but no luck via this path either.

So if you connect the computer directly to the modem , it works .
That means your modem is working properly. Your ISP is DSL connection. Now connect the modem to the router and the computer to the router. Open the router xet up page and change the settings of the router according to the type of connection you have.
There are 2 types of connection in DSL.
DHCP and PPPOE .

Have you checked the setup of the router? Could it not be set correctly for your modem? Check your manuals from both the DSL provider and the Belkin router. Routers do go bad, but I would check all of the settings before replacing the router.

No wireless internet - problem with belkin router

From one of the "wired" computers, connect to the router's built-in web-server, and run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard", in order to configure your wireless network, choosing an 'SSID' and a "password" for your network.

I followed the instruction but can't seem to connect to the internet, do i need a separate modem or is the one in my regular computer enough. i have belkin G wireless router. i have tried everything....

If you are trying to connect wireless you will need a wireless card. Routers are very peticular about the way they are set up. Unhook everything turn everything off and reboot computer, and run the software disc that came with the router. Plug the dsl into the the Blue colored port or Wlan then reboot computer and then plug cable into computer. This should work.

Connect router to playstation 3

You need to first plug the DSL modem into the router. log on to the router. Configure the router byusing the user name and password as supplied by your dsl provider. once the router connects to your dsl provider, you should be able to connect your playstation to the wireless network.

Can't get a wireless router to work with a speedstream 4200

This may actually be an issue with your ISP. There is a good possiblity that your ISP has bound your connection to the MAC address of the network card on your computer. This is a common occurance which is why router manufacturers give you the option of having your router clone your computer's MAC address. Go into your router's management an perform the clone, sorry I cannot give you more details but I don't know the specific model of your Belkin router.

Belkin router

I just worked on one of these today. Try this and see if it helps.

1. Unplug your cable or DSL modem and your wireless router

2. Plug back in the cable or DSL modem and wait for the internet to successfully connect (watch the lights).

3. Plug the wireless router back in again and wait for it to connect (again, watching the lights)

If this doesn't work, make sure you have the equipment plugged-in in the right order.

cable or dsl signal goes to modem ==> modem plugs into wireless router ===> computer plugs into wireless router.

Downloads locks up - Belkin N1 Wireless Router

I had the same problem. My Belkin N1 Router was constantly dropping the WiFi connection (every few minutes). I tried several solutions I found on different forums:
Change the channel selection from Auto to a specific channel -- I tried all 13 channels, but no improvement.

Update the firmware to the latest (Beta) version -- still no improvement.

Finally I enabled "Protected Mode" and the connection seems fine now. Hope this helps, and good luck!
