Midland cb radio 75-822, back noise and static it's all what others can hear. Also when I press PTT a high pitch noise can be heard by others. Can I fix this or my CB it's damaged?

Is squelch turned too high that it is blocking too many signals?
Otherwise, it could be a faulty cable on the mic as the PTT button disconnects the speaker on the CB and a broken wire can cause the speaker to be disconnected.
It could be that a wire came loose inside switch. Solder all wires in place around switch or reheat them. Cold solder joints sometimes cause this. Solder pencil types are sold at Radio Shack.
Hi,my name is John. Welcome to FixYa. Do you hear voice in radio? May be to close to each other. Let me know how it goes. Good luck and thanks for Choosing FixYa ..John sounds like feed back from speaker.
Aluminum is a great conductor, and it sounds like your setup is just fine. Make sure that CB/PA switch is in the CB position. If it is, and you still don't hear any transmissions, chances are that there's just no one using this one-popular service in your area. I just tuned through through all 40 channels here in San Antonio, Texas, and didn't hear a single peep.
The old Regency radios used a 'stereo' 1/4 plug (3 circuit). Back ring was ground, center ring was switch to PTT to ground and tip was audio line. Is your plug a 'stereo' 1/4 plug?
sounds like a problem to me . I have one that was in fair shape that had the same symptoms , I pounded the crop out of it with a hammer and now it doesn't recieve anything . You can't find a service manual for it ,unless midland will sell you one but don't hold your breath . Remember a 26 oz. hammer works good but not the radio.
Hi Frank, It sounds to me like you may have a bad dectector diode. Other possibilities are cold solder joints in the stand up boards in the IF section. Good Luck

I would check my ptt wiring making sure the button is set so that when you push it it switches you from RX to TX. If you have a wiring diagram that would be helpful if not are you able to get one? In any event make sure the wires are not misconnected.
What kind of batteries are you using? Was it off for a long spell?
