  • For 11 meter (CB) the standard 40 channels will be the exactly same as the "EU" set of frequencies (channels). However the "UK" 11 meter (40 channels) and the U.S.A. 40 11 meter (40channels CB) will not work together at all. This includes any actual Citizen Band radio, excluding Export 10 an 12 meter radios often labeled as "CB'S" which they are not.

  • Hope this helps.

You need to take off cover locate wires to that switch and cut them loose from CB/WB and buy a Toggle switch to mount outside radio and switch it on/off like to make CB/WB selection..Seems that switch inside is screwed. needs new one. I would rigg it myself. By drilling hole in cover and placing outside toggle with white marker saying Cb top Wb bottom.

It could be that a wire came loose inside switch. Solder all wires in place around switch or reheat them. Cold solder joints sometimes cause this. Solder pencil types are sold at Radio Shack.

I don't recommend a power mod on these. They will get hot and burn up quick with more than 4 watts going out of it. How ever there are some coils in there you can spread but make sure they are not the tuning coils.

The best out of the package antenna for a magnetic I have experienced has been the Wilson "Lil Wil". As long as the instructions are read and followed correctly and adjusted with a good working SWR meter you should not have any problems. Make sure the ground is good on the base, and adjust the lowest SWR on channel 20. Then check the other channels 1 and 40 to make sure the SWR reading is even. If you cannot get a good reading anywhere, check the ground and readjust the base. Should you continue to have a high reading you may have to trim the length of the antenna according to instructions included with the Wilson Antenna. Your radio should not need any adjustment and is factory preset and tuned. This is instructions for the "Little Wil", however, you may choose some of the more broadbanded antennas that are longer and easier to tune, although more pricey.
