Aspire 5610-2762 Orbicam not working

I receive an error stating :
ACER ORBICAM APPLICATION HAS STOPPED WORKING

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program notify you if a solution is available. Close Program.

I do not use messenger so it is not due to this being downloaded. There is nothing on the Acer troubleshooting and technical support to help with this.

My orbicam can't open anymore. When i check instalation, it only says uninstall the program! My acer orbit cam program was deleted by mistake

I have found a great site that gives good details of how to resolve your problem. Go check it out for a step by step resolve on how to remedy the Orbicam problem. It is well documented and has good instructions to follow. Good Luck

    Hi again, I strongly suggest following the instructions in the link offered. The solution offered there is the outcome of more than 190 posts regarding your exact problem. Try the 2 procedures detailed first, if no luck, follow the given instructions on how to gather information from your machine to then email ACER support for the CORRECT driver to be emailed to you. Oy..ok..go to www.acer.com and get the driver set again, then re install that, and then choose that camera, from control panel.

Try performing uninstall from control panel, even if the program is corrupted. Then install it again using the recovery disk or downloading it.

Hi,

Ready for this, goto to start>my pictures and remove all images from that folder except for the samples folder, just create another folder in your documents for these images.

Now start the webcam up again.

Sounds stupid but it works.

Try deleting or moving all pics from the my pictures folder. Worked for me on my aspire 5050.

sounds like youre using vista where live messenger starts up auto and tries to log you on whether you use it or not .if so let it run its course then right click on the icon and disable then reboot

** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.

If that does not work then do this:

Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering Technology then Acer E-Recovery - The look at the bottom and you will "Backup", "Burn disk" and Restore" choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say extracting) - once extracted - click Install - click Vista or (XP) on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the right side of the screen, click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions.
