When viewing the pictures, the picture is fuzzy before it becomes clear. Why? Does the camera have a defect?

No problem there. Many photos viewing soft-wares do this - it is to sped up quick reviews of a sequence of photos many megabytes each.

Cannot take pictures thru lcd screen on d40x DSLR

The D40x is not capable of Liveview - i.e. looking at the LCD to take a picture. You are mistaken.
If you want Liveview, you need to buy the D3 or D300 cameras. The D40x is an entry-level camera.

Blur on LCD and on pictures taken

Sorry to tell you this but your CCD is gone. In a fwe days time pics will be black in color. CP 5400 uses a batch of defective Sony CCD's. Nikon's service center in Kolkata, India replaced the CCD in my CP 5400 free of cost. This was because Nikon has issued a service advisory. Try your luck with the Nikon service center closest to your home!
