We have tried multiple troubleshooting ideas, but nothing seems to work. We bought 2 of these systems. Both had no voice guidance when we purchased them. One we have fixed using the troubleshooting info from website. The other did not work, plus now the map will not even come on when you push Navigation. The other options on the menu will work. Please let us know if you have any suggestions!

I had the same problem. I had to have the dealer reload the GPS software once I got back to the states. It took two tries, but once actual GPS software was updated with the U.S. software version it worked find.
You can download for free the installation disk software from www.garmin.com. You can also download a base map, but may have to buy maps from Garmin for more detailed maps/charts. You may need the serial number of the unit to unlock the maps, this is on a paper sticker under the gps antenna.
Even with the maps unlocked it they can appear to be locked.
There are little known flags to diable/enable the base/detailed maps.
Check that the boxes are checked under the <Map><Options><Misc>
You can select either base or detailed maps there.
Disable both and it looks like the unit doesn't have any maps.
"This error is most likely caused because the voice files need to be reloaded onto the iQue. Insert the iQue setup disk and select 'Install Software'. Then select 'Change voice'. Then select the voice to be installed on the device. When the voice files are finished installing, perform a Hotsync. The voice guidance files will then be restored to the unit and the voice prompts should work correctly."
1)Does it make beeping sounds when you touch the screen buttons?
2)Can you hear the voice when you listen through an external headset?
If your answer is no to #1 and yes to #2 then you may have a dead speaker.
In the setup screen there is a way to select different voices/languages. Try a different voice.
When those models first came out there was a problem with the software not recognizing the voice files. There was a free update done to correct the problem. If your current software version is less than 5.00 you should update.
