I bought a ique 3600 on the spur of the moment to back up the unit in my boat. It came with nothing period. It works, turns on etc. I would like to get a installation disk or program for it. I have downloaded the manuels etc already. Any advise on how to get 1: Installation disk 2: updated maps.

You can download for free the installation disk software from www.garmin.com. You can also download a base map, but may have to buy maps from Garmin for more detailed maps/charts. You may need the serial number of the unit to unlock the maps, this is on a paper sticker under the gps antenna.
Sad to say but the maps may cost more than buying a new gps unit. you should be able to at least use the basemaps. You could also buy Fugawi which is a 3rd party mapping software tool
I have had an ique a long time and I do the same thing, use it as backup on the water. Keep one thing in mind. On the water the touch screen may start doing crazing things so if that happens carefully clean it with a very mild soap solution. The touch screen works on the principle of conductivity on the screen so water especially salt water can cause crazy things to happen.

The simplest method is to update the software for the Mapping/Data, the one you probably had is sooo out of date!
