Wont accept updates and wont completely sign in to xbox live
I have a 360 elite. I dont have internet at home and i havent been able to get console updates. one day while putting in a game my gamerscore was erased with all my save games. i brought it to my cousins house and tried to get the updates. Now I cant sign in to my xbox live account though my cousin can on his with the same wireless unit. It tells me that an update is available and when i go to download it it tells me i am not signed in though you need to be to get the update message. Also, my xbox has slowed down to the point where it takes 30 seconds to get past the initial start up screen. any help would be greatly appreciated as i havent been able to find an answer.

You may also be out of hard drive space if you're using a 4gb internal model Xbox 360. If you haven't already, find yourself a compatible USB thumb drive to insert, format and use as added memory.
xbox live has changed its protocols, online users will not need to do anything but if you have not been on for a while you will need to update xbox if this dont work log into xbox live on internet and follow the online setting page.
The easiest way to update your console software is to connect to Xbox
LIVE. To update your console by using Xbox LIVE, all you need is an
Internet connection.
Connect your Xbox 360 console to the Internet.
On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
Select Network Settings.
Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.
Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.
Select Yes if you are prompted to update the console software.
If your Xbox 360 console is connected to the Internet through a router
or gateway (as opposed to through a direct modem connection), try
connecting the console directly to the modem. Here's how:
Plug one end of a network cable into the back of your Xbox 360 console and the other end into your modem.
On the console, sign in to Xbox LIVE and start the game.
Choose to download the game update.
If
you can download game updates when the Xbox 360 console is connected
directly to the modem, there might be a problem with your router or
gateway configuration.
Its a problem on microsofts end did you try looking too see if you were connected to the internet? and if everything checks out its just a problem with the servers..
