Urgent help hello, anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated. After installing the convergence repair kit from hitachi, pn# X480295 (STK's and all the resistors associated with it)the TV worked properly for about 20 minutes but them, the unthinkable happened, RK46 (1.8 ohm)RK62(2.2 ohm)and RK58 (3.9 ohm) burn, I did re-replaced them again, but the same thing happened again.Hitachi talks about checking the DCU unit????what's that and the convergence yokes, Now I'm really lost???DOES ANY ONE HAS an idea or suggestions about what is going on????I don't feel like re-replacing those resistors, just to see them burn again.

I have ordered the parts and about to do the necessary replacements...but... the new parts look awfully like the ones that I replaced not while ago, and although the bag label reads Hitachi, and the label is CZ01341...the manufacturer is SANYO just like the one I replaced before, WHAT GUIVES???.Also when searching for the parts only one place carry such TRITRONICS, (and they where costly, $90.00 total)but they also carry the repair kit that I had previously gotten from Hitachi and the parts again look the same, however the repair kit from Hitachi( JT22053-X480295)contains both IK's (STK392-150). ANY IDEAS BEFORE I PROCEED????.

PLEASE let me help...1) If you ask a large parts supplier about
OEM parts (Original Equipment Mfr.)the best quality is by the piece with mfr # on the bag...Hitachi STK392-110 is now subbed
and upgraded to STK394-160 with Hitachi # CZ 01341 ON THE
PACKAGE ! They are the best and WILL NOT BURN THE
CURRENT LIMITING RESISTORS UP ! Kit IC's are not always
first QUALITY, as you are fnding out.So, change the IC's with
two # CZ 01341 HITACHI ON THE BAG and you will not burn
any more resistors ! 2) Forget about the DCU and yokes........
Let me know how it goes......................T.

    According to Andrews Electronics,Hitachi subs STK392-110 &

    -120 & -150 to CZ 01341 = STK394-160E , yes,mfr by Sanyo.

CZ 01341 is first quality OEM spec or better........Kit IC's are

not necessarily first quality......STK394-160 with Sanyo name

sold as generic may not be first quality....The only way we are assured of ORIGINAL MFR SPEC FIRST QUALITY is to have

their name & part number on the package.....................

Next, concerning resistors...I rarely change more than four,

never all, usually one or two......make a list of locations to verify

    values...................................T.

Ok i would suspect the yokes are shorted to ground somewhere. you can measure that. the dcu or the digital convergence unit... which is the processor that handles the convegence of the set. i would have to research and pull up schematics to know which output on the convergence chips that those resistors handle blue ver...blue horizontal..etc.. that might help to see which output is shorted.

Color is warped and wrong

A convergence amp has failed. Very common. Plan on just replacing both STK modules (big flat circuit modules mounted on a big heat sink) with upgraded parts. Good ones cost about $40 each. Then readjust the convergence. Total cost at a shop is $250-$400.
Hope Ya Fix It.

Re: 43FDX01B blue convergence issues

Ditto CTF1800's comment....Check RP-41 1.5 ohm 2 watt and
other low value resistors near IC's mounted on large heatsinks.

STK392-110 original convergence IC's can be upgraded to
Hitachi # CZ 01341 new number STK394-160E for greater reliability.......Hitachi also has an IC / resistor kit # X480295,
but I don't change good resistors, only the bad one(s).

Practice good visual acuity technique and ask questions!.....T.

Red double

Bad solder connects in convergence circuit...a solid fix is to
replace STK392-110 convergence IC's with upgrade STK394-160
Part # CZ 01341... you need two.....or buy kit # X480295 ( one )
Look for any damaged resistors near IC's.............T.

Convergence problem

That unit has a convergence repair kit that should fix most problems. Order it directly from Hitachi p/n# X480295. It contains: Rk42 3.3 Ohm 1w Rk46 1.8 Ohm 1w Rk50 3.3 Ohm 1w Rk54 1.8 Ohm 1w Rk58 3.9 Ohm 1w Rk62 2.2 Ohm 1w Ik04 Stk392-150 Ik05 Stk392-150 And I would strongly recommend testing all the resistors in that circuit for change in value. Are you using a good heat sink compound on the STK's when you installed them? That and ordering the japanese knock-offs for STK's are the two most common critical mistakes made. Originally that unit had two STK392-110's for conv. amps. Even Hitachi recommends subbing to a STK392-150 or 180 for greater reliability. You do realize that for the cost you have after two failed attempts you probably could have taken this to a reputable shop and watching the ball games now. :) (no disrespect intended) Good Luck! Bill
