I have a cobra29 wx nw st. its been peaked and tuned, an echo board installed, and soundtracker override when i key up if my mic gain is over 1/4 the way up it makes an awful racket what do i do?

Is there talk back installed? if so its probably too loud. You are getting feed back. The talk back should be low, just enough to hear it to check echo. 470 ohm resistor is perfect.

It could be.. Final blown : worst case bad mic : try another one CB/PA switch on PA instead of CB CB/WX swithc on WX instead of CB :you cannot transmit on weather. Broken wire on mic jack.
Try the mic and switches first, and if that doesn't help you may need to take to tech. You can find one at a cb shop usually at truck stops.
usally on most radios you will unplug the wire that comes from the number two mic plug. you will hook you sheid witch is the 2 little black wires from the echo board to number one mic plug. then the two wires will go to wire you unplug and the other one will go to number 2 mic plug.
