Accidently changed something and not able to get antenna tv now - do not ahve cable here at work

I am unable to see at a glance how to correct this but it is between its menu, channel and volume buttons to alter the settings it may be worth to run through the re-tune sequence below?

To preset a channel or to change a preset channel, follow the procedure below.
1) Press the POWER button to turn on the TV.
2) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears
on the TV screen.
3) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "CHANNEL SET".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
4) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "AUTO PRESET CH".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
The tuner scans and memorizes all active channels in your area.
? The TV distinguishes between standard TV channels and cable channels.
? When AUTO PRESET CH action is completed, the lowest memorized channel reappears on the
screen.
? When you press the CH(annel) ? or ? button after selecting "AUTO PRESET CH", the tuner
will stop at the memorized channels only.
? The TV may recognize TV channels to be CATV channels by the receiving conditions. In this
case, try AUTO PRESET CH action again in the fine receiving conditions.
? When AUTO PRESET CH is activated where there is no TV signal input,"NO TV SIGNALS"
will appear on the display after the completion of channel scanning.
[ADD/DELETE FUNCTION]
1) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears on the TV screen.
2) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "CHANNEL SET".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
3) Press the VOL(ume) ? button so that "ADD/DELETE" is selected.
4) Use the CH(annel) ? or ? button to select the
channel you wish to put into memory or to erase from memory.
Note: The menu will disappear in about 10 seconds.
Perform "ADD/DELETE" function while this display appears on the
screen.
? Press the VOL(ume) ? or ? button to light up the channel number
in LIGHT BLUE if you wish to add the channel into memory.
? Press the VOL(ume) ? or ? button to light up the channel number
in LIGHT RED if you wish to erase the channel from memory.
5) Press the MENU button to exit the menu.

Hope this helps.

How do i program my channels

Hello
Your Toshiba tv can be automatically tuned to all stations. The procedure follows.

Programming channels automatically

Your TV can automatically detect all active channels and store them in

its memory. After the TV has stored the channels in its memory automatically,

you can add or erase channels manually.

To add channels automatically:

1. Press MENU, then press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to display the SETUP menu.

2. Press "Up arrow"or "down arrow" until the TV/CABLE

selection is highlighted.

3. Press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to highlight either

TV or CABLE, depending on which you use.

If you use an antenna, choose TV.

If you use cable, choose CABLE.

4. Press "down arrow" button until the CH PROGRAM selection is highlighted.

5. Press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to start channel programming. The TV will automatically

cycle through all the TV or Cable channels (depending on which you

selected), and store all active channels in the channel memory.

While the TV is cycling through the channels, the message

"PROGRAMMING NOW-PLEASE WAIT" appears.

6. When channel programming is complete, the message "COMPLETED"

appears.
7. Press CH UP or DOWN button to view the programmed channels.
OK.

I only get about 5 channels

Make sure in the on screen menu that the tuner is set for CABLE or AIR depending on whether you have cable or an antenna. The channel frequencies are the same for ch 2 thru ch 13 but everthing above that is different depending on your source.
Hope Ya Fix It!

Tv will not program in digital signals; only anolog from direct tv box

Any TV hooked up to a cable or satellite box can only "see" one channel...the set-top box (STB) converts the channel you are watching to (usually) Ch. 3 or 4. With cable you can split the input if your TV has 2 RF inputs, with a dish that won't work.

That's why the TV stays on Ch 3 and the STB changes to whatever you want to watch.

Channel three is missing

Hi pasu, Normally if you can get/program Chs 2 and/or 4 as well the other channels, then Ch 3 should also be programmable. If this is not possible, perhaps you can try to manually program by selecting "03" and add to the memory "+" in some brands/model. If this is still a no go, perhaps you should seek the services of qualified professional since this would apparently be an internal software problem. You can also try a hard/full reset by unplugging the TV from the mains for couple of hours or as prescribed by your TV's user manual. If the TV has Video input features, a possible temporary work around the TV's Ch3 problem is to use the Video1 or the Audio/Video INput of your TV and use an old VCR to connect to your cable box. Remove the coaxial cable from your cable box to your TV and connect it to the RF/TV INput of your VCR. Use a 3 way RCA to RCA connector (usually Yellow, Red & White) to couple the Audio/Video OUTput of the VCR to the Audio/Video INput of the TV. Select Video mode in your TV (so it doesn't matter even if you cannot program Ch3). Power up your VCR, select Ch3 in your VCR's tuner. I assume that to select channels you wish to view, you use a remote and channel selection is done in your cable box. What worries me is "...went to a fuzzy black and white screen..." which is indicative of another fault. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Have cable.........but not working

The GE (actually RCA) 31GT659 has the notorious CTC187 chassis. This chassis developes cracks in the solder joints on the shields around the tuner and microprocessor, and can mess up the settings stored in the EPROM IC. This could result in channels going snowy, vertical collapse, loss of sound and/or total shut-down. The set should be resoldered and reprogrammed by someone experienced with this RCA chassis.
