If it seems to be coming from underneath the unit it could be the compressor. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} That's usually mounts inside the compressor. Usually when the compressor cuts off. It could still last awhile so if you can put up with the noise just wait for it to quit before replacing the compressor or getting a new fridge.
Any other noise would be from a fan. One in the freezer behind the back panel and one under the unit where the compressor is.

GE FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR DOES NOT MAKE ICE

First thing to check is if the freezer temperature is going down low enough for the ice maker to work - around 10 degrees. The icemaker thermostat will not activate the mechanism (cam motor) unless this requirement is met.

Refrigerator Noise

Most likely the fan is hitting some frost inside. Defrost the fridge by unplugging it for 24 hours and see if it helps.

GE Profile making knocking noises at different times

I have the GE profile Refrigerator with ice maker in the refrigerator compartment. Mine was knocking loudly for long periods of time, so I finally removed the icemaker by removing the side panel in the icemaker compartment held with 1 phillips head screw, disconnecting the electrical plug (unclip), pulling the tab of the icemaker down (on top) and sliding it toward the door, thus removing it. There was ice frozen in the motor compartment that was the problem. I let it thaw out and re-installed. All was OK after that..

Icemaker noises on almost new GE Profile refrigerator

I have not heard of this issue but if it is coming from the icemaker, then it will have to be replaced. You are still under warranty so call to have them replace it now, otherwise the new icemaker will cost you about $125.

New GE profile bottom freezer fridge intermittent buzzing

If the buzzing is a short (say 5 seconds) every once in a while, it sounds like the water is valve being energized. That would mean the icemaker is turned on and is cycling. Besides the noise, when it cycles it turns on the mold heater, which you do not need if not making ice, and thus is actually adding heat to your freezer, increasing operating cost. Just turn the icemaker off by flipping the toggle switch on the icemaker itself. It is a white switch near the bottom corner of the icemaker. Should be easy to spot.
