The water dispenser lever on the Ultraease Plus water & ice dispenser on my Whirlpool refrigerator does not shut off when used. You have to pull the lever back out to make the water stop. Also, the water flow seems greatly reduced from what it used to be in this refrigerator. Is there some kind of valvel in there that needs to be replaced? If so, can you tell me how to get the external fascia off so that I can get in there? I noticed the response on this forum to the same question re: the GS6NBEXR said to put a flat end screw drive in the slots on the underside and pry it out. But my model doesn't have any such slots, and when I tried to just pry it up there was no give and I was afraid I was going to break it. Thanks for any help you can provide
Try this first. In the inlet side( where the little water line comes in) there is a small screen where the water is hooked up. Shut off the water and unhook the water line. there should be a small screen to keep out particles from entering your ice make/ water dispenser. See if that screen is plugged. If so clean the screen. you can put it in vinager over night if you want. It will help clean it.
