Those lines are typically horizontal and they go all the way across the entire screen. These black lines could also be caused by damage to these ribbon cables.

Hi, I have a Samsung LN40A550 LCD TV which I have had for just over a year. ... your picture tube may be malfunctioning -- all of the information for the screen is being squished into that horizontal line. If this is the case, you can buy a new picture tube and install it, but that would be the only fix. the only other thing I can think of that might cause this issue would be if you have a large speaker next to your TX. The magnet from a large speaker can distort the television, but it usually gives you a funny green distortion near the magnet without killing your whole screen so it seems unlikely that this is your problem.

If your tv has a picture tube,your problem is in it.
If you have only one line now,the vertical circuit is not working.
You could have jarred something loose around the picture tube.Maybe a yoke lead ???
