Your iPhone not ringing might be caused by many reasons:

1. First, you can check to see whether your iPhone is set to the silent mode. If so, you will not be able to hear your iPhone ringing.

2. Check if your iPhone has turned on the "Do Not Disturb" button. Sometimes you may accidentally switch on Do Not Disturb option, which silences notifications, alerts, and calls. Your iPhone will not ring, but it still allows the phone calls to come in and as you won't hear the sound, you will see missed calls. In some cases, the user accidentally turns this feature on without even realizing.

3. You'd better investigate on your ringtone to ensure that your ringtone file is not corrupted or the ringtone itself is not silence.

4. Perhaps something wrong with your iPhone audio components. For instance, your iPhone speakers can not work normally.

5. When your iPhone is stuck in the headphone mode, you will fail to receive the ringing as well.

6. If you have turned the feature of "block unknown callers", you will not be able to hear the phone ringing of strangers that are not in your contact list.

7. It is probable that your iPhone software is too old, which calls for updating to hear ringtones normally.

My iphone will not ring and i checked the orange dot

Some users who have recently updated/restored to the new iPhone firmware 3.0 have reported to have got into a problem where their phone randomly doesn’t ring when there is a call nor does the keyboard or slide to unlock button sound anymore. I got into this problem as well after unlocking and jailbreaking my iPhone 3G with firmware 3.0, my iPhone suddenly stopped ringing on calls randomly, resulting in missing a lot of important calls.
So if your iPhone isn’t ringing sound on calls, or if you are unable to hear the keyboard or slide to unlock click sounds, then try the following fixes before you panic and call Apple support:
Fix #1: Push feature is currently not working properly on jailbroken iPhone’s. If you have installed an application which supports Push Notification System then try disabling the Push feature as it may solve the problem.
Fix #2: Try Resetting the iPhone: Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will reset your phone’s setting to factory defaults. Your contacts, calendars photos and any other data will stay intact.
Fix #3: There is a slight possibility that your iPhone’s headphone jack may have got some dust or rust which is causing the phone to think that the headphones are still plugged in when they actually aren’t. Try blowing out air in the headphone jack or try plugging the headphones in and out repeatedly. This trick may solve the no sound problem.
Fix #4: Restore/Update you iPhone back and start afresh: If the above solutions doesn’t help in solving your problem then you will have to start from scratch by first restoring your iPhone to the the original firmware
3.0 from iTunes, jailbreak it using redsn0w and then finally unlock(3G users only) it using ultrasn0w. This has fixed my problem.
Fix #5: Install Insomnia from Cydia: Install Insomnia as your last resort. When you press the power button on the top, iPhone goes into sleep mode after 30 seconds, in the process turning off your WiFi, sound and other stuff. When Insomnia app (available for free from Cydia) is enabled, applications will keep running and sound & WiFi will stay connected when the screen is off. This should fix your problem if all of the above solutions have failed to fix it.

Phone won't ring in sleep mode

I had the same problem with my iPhone the only way I was able to fix it was to re-flashed the latest 2.2 firmware. Power phone off, power on by holding power and home at same time, hold power for ten seconds and then release still holding home key for another 30 seconds to put phone in DFU mode. Then plug into iTunes it will detect phone in recovery mode and allow you to re-image

Intermittently my iPhone does not ring and incoming calls get forwarded.

Through the iPhone to dustbin and buy a normal phone. It works better than this iphone. This happens to a lot of people.

İPhone not ringing

you can actually move the button , on the top left hand side of your iphone, over the ringer volume, you will see a red or orange dot, this means the switch has you iphone in silent mode, I was stuck on this, until I found it is a actual switch, look at it closely, you can move it. So where you see the red dot, put your finger on it and move it the opposite way, and I do not mean press the button, I mean, flip the switch on it, then your phone will not be in silent mode anymore,,, this was very annoying, I hope it helps anyone that has the same problem.
cheers!
