I have an alpine MRP-500 amp that used to work great with my 2 10" Type-R subwoofers. Out of nowhere the sound just stopped working and still will not. I had the amp and subs tested and the guy said it was perfect. I am still getting power to the amp but no sound. After checking all of my connections through my car I have discovered no problems.

Try the external fuses. Mine did the same thing. i tested them with a multimeter and they both came out good but i replaced them anyway and my amp is working now.

  • make sure the subwoofer level is up on the head unit.
  • Make sure the RCA cables are good.
  • Make sure the remote wire is connected and has 12v+ when the head unit is on.
If the remote wire is not turning on the amp, its not going to work. To hot wire it to see if thats the problem, just run 12v+ to the remote jack. That will turn on the amp.

Subwoofer stopped working

Put another known working speaker in there to see if it works. If it does then the issue is with your speaker. If it also does not work your amp is to blame.

MRP-M450 puts out no sound to the subs

The amplifier may be overloaded, check to see if it can handle 4 OHM loads and 2 OHM loads. if it turns off at high volume the amp may be overloaded. if so try a 8 OHM load. if it still turns off it may be an internal problem.
