Alpine MRP-M500 Car Audio Amplifier Questions & Answers
Parked my car for a day. Went to drive it last
Is it possible that you may have over driven the unit and blown either the power supply or output stages? Well, if the amp is getting power as you indicate the issue lies within the stages I just mentioned.
Amp light on but no sound
either something in your amp burned up, or the audio wires going from your cd player to your amp are bad

Try making sure your sound input to the amp is good (could be a bad output from the radio or RCA cable), could also be a bad input from the amp, bad outputs from the amp or even a bad sub. You have to check each of these and eliminate the problem. I would make sure you have a good audio signal to the amp first.
I have power to my
The RCA connectors are usually associated with the audio, not power. I would expect that if you open the amp you'll find that the RCA connectors are soldered directly to the printed circuit board (PCB). They may be right-angle type connectors and stand off the board.
You may be able to replace the connectors, but it will probably require some modifications. You should be able to find some at a Radio Shack store. If you can secure them to the chassis (cover) you can run heavy wires such as 16 or 14 gage directly from the connectors to the PCB.
If you are not intimidated by electronic soldering, then it should be possible without too much trouble. If you can find chassis-mount RCA connectors, you can drill small holes in the cover for screws to hold them to the chassis, if there is sufficient room available.
Be sure to avoid touching the PCB if possible, so you don't damage it by static discharge. If you must touch it, ground yourself first.
Good luck!
I have 8 gauge power
Hi, the safe mode indicates the speaker impedance is too low. It doesn't reflect the power to the amp. Check the resistance of the speaker and wires with an ohmmeter and verify it is 2 ohms or greater. Can you tell me what speaker you have?

Any time that there is a rattling sound from the subs, that indicates that they are probably blown. How were the subs tested ok? If the resistance of the subs is still close to OK, that is good, but it doesn't necessarily indicate that they are working properly.
Try using different subs at a lower volume, or turning down the gain slightly.
