I ve an Acer Alapttop 5720spirehaaproplem I have. this is the snnd

The above should read "I have an Acer Aspire 5720 Laptop and this is the problem I have".

I usually use an external mouse as I find it easier and thought the mouse might have been the problem. So I disconnected it and am using the mouse pad on the laptop and have found the problem far worse .

Is it a hardware propblem, it certainly seems it.

If advice is not given within the next two weeks I am taking this laptop back and having a refund.

I have an Acer, aspire 5315, just got it about 2 months ago and it has Vista. I now have SP1 but the cursor does the same things in Word and Outlook emails, it bounces everywhere, I do not believe I am touching the touch pad and the cursor just keeps bouncing everywhere in the document and also in email, seemst to go to the PRINT button and prints my half typed emails ...the cursor bounces all over inside documents and I have not been able to figure this out. My techie says I am touching it, but I have been using touchpads for yrs and this has not happened until I got the new acer with Vista. Very frustrating, Another problem poster said they tought it happend with the Y alot and it

NO! Neither they nor I am accidentally tapping the home key. It's a real problem. I have a Dell Inspirion, and I have the exact same very obnoxious problem. We are all looking for someone to provide real answers to a very real problem NOT caused by us.

I don't want to sound sarcastic... but are you accidentally tapping the "home" key?

My laptop has a black screen with a blinking cursor

Blinking Cursor b> Laptops, especially models with a touchpad, occasionally experience issues with a skipping cursor. The cursor on the screen may skip or jump when you are using it or even when you are just typing and not actually using the cursor. This can be especially annoying when playing games or typing. Adjusting the sensitivity of your touchpad may remedy the problem.

Close all application windows and restart the laptop. This will shut down any background processes that might be affecting your cursor. Rebooting often remedies cursor skipping problems. Run antivirus software to confirm that your misbehaving cursor is not caused by malware. If the cursor has changed to an unfamiliar shape without you initiating the change, your system could be infected by a virus or you might have installed unstable software. Run an antivirus scan and remove suspicious files and programs from your laptop. Adjust your touchpad's settings. In Windows, open "Control Panel," click on "Mouse" and then click "Tapping." On a Mac, access "Trackpad" and "System Preferences." Lower the tracking speed or sensitivity so that if you are accidentally touching the touchpad while typing, you are less likely to cause the cursor to skip. Save your new settings.

Skipping cursor problems

i was trying to assit my lacousin with her laptop "issues" and could not figure out how to stop the cursor from skipping around. when you start typing on her laptop the cursor has been known to:

move randomly while you're typing
highlights text and deletes it
jump all over the page

After doing many google searches, I was unsuccessful in finding a solution so I thought I'd post here. I have tried to make her touch pad less sensitive but nothing seems to work.

Thanks for touching basis with me for clarification...hopes this helps!

Skipping and Shaking cursor

I have exactly the same problem as you, my tablet worked perfectly for the first three months and then started to act weird, shaking and skipping screen areas, even if i only touch it with my forearm.

Uninstalling/Re-Installing drivers didn't solved anything, so i started switching my tablet to different usb ports in my pc, and from one to another, the problem got a lot better. It didin't solved it, but works "decent". So, comparing yor experience with mine, it's probably an usb-port problem, rather than the tablet itself i thik.

I will test it in othe computerts to see how it goes

Craig MP3 player

1) Disconnect from computer, turn it off, hold in volume + button and reconnect it to your computer - continue holding volume + until the Found Hardware Wizard comes up.

2)
REFORMAT FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Erases Everything: Connect your iLo player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "ILO 2GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything, and give you a fresh start.

Cursor skips lines while typing

I had this problem and solved it in minutes by downloading and installing a neat little freeware program called TouchFreeze. Google it and give it a try. --Erik E./Brooklyn

Cursor skips lines while typing

My experience: cursor suddenly moving backward when i was typing, or moving somewhere else on the page. I would be typing and text suddenly would get highlighted. I followed someone's advice to disable the touch pad. Since I do have a mouse & key pad that was all i had to do.
HOW TO DISABLE THE TOUCHPAD FOR ACER 3680 AND OTHERS??? PRESS Fn +F7
Yep, it was that simple. At first I made sure i typed without my fingers or palms touching or near the touchpad. I noticed it seemed to stop or happen less. Soon as I disabled the touch pad all is back to normal. Yet I spent hrs trying to find out how and there were all these posts by people suggesting downloads and other more complicated things etc..
