CD come in two flavors. Some players burn CD- and some burn CD+ and some of them burn both. The cd burn software is within windows software itself. As far as music download I do nt believe their is any free music downloads anymore and many are copy protected to stop them for being copied? Hope this helps? You will need to install what is called a codec pack but the easiest way to solve your problem would be to download and install a free program called VLC media player. VLC will play just about any DVD without a problem.

You may need to install WinDVD , Interactual Video player, or some similar video player software. The drive will read data CD's and DVD's with Windows , but it needs video codecs (supplied with the video player software) to play DVD movies and media.

If you are referring to the admin password on the BIOS and are the owner of the machine from Dell, you can contact their support http://www.dell.com/support/my-support/us/en/19/Products/ and enter the service tag of the machine. Then contact them via Chat and they will help get that unlocked for you. If the admin password is in windows, they won't be able to help.

Openthe back of the machine, under the PCMCIA slot, and find the EEPROM with 8 pins.

Short pins 3 and 6 for about 2 seconds after pressing the power button, then it "should"say:

***Manufacturing Mode - Level [1]***

Press Fn-X to return tonormal mode" then when you see this, press F2.

After bioscomes up, press ESC, choose "Save and exit" then reboot.

No more master boot password.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1 Disconnect the battery and the charger
2 Let it sit for 1-2 minutes.
3 Press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.
4 Connect the charger (don't connect the battery yet) and try to start by pressing the power button.

Let me know if everything remain same.

I am assuming that you mean the USB on the docking station is not detecting your mouse and keyboard, please can you open your device manager and have a look for the docking station in the list, if you see it in the list but is has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark showing next to the docking station, if this is the case right click on the line and remove this from the list, and then get device manager to refresh, this will reinstall the driver and should get the docking station working again.

Hello, you may need to update the BIOS [Fan Malfuntion] creating other problems until it is necessary to replace the Motherboard, but you can make some diagnoses and there are tools to determine the damage and solve it.
I send you three link, please apply in that order (we are not responsible for any error or damage that happens, it is an option we provide).

Hello, how long does it take to shut down? If you a chance to check and have a diagnosis (I attached a link) it would be much easier to fix it; The other option would be to visit the dell store or a reliable mechanic to make some measurements of the different elements. I exhort you to watch a video so you can have an idea and know the proportions of this problem and if you have no knowledge of electronics it's better that you don't do it, please. https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/quicktest
