The speakers worked fine until we disconnected them to move the computer. Everything appears to be "hooked up" the same way that it was but we get no sound, just a low hum. What did we do wrong?

Disconnect all the speaker leads and then hook one speaker (a new, known to work speaker) up directly to the radio using a short (6"-12") piece of speaker wire. Does that speaker work then?
Did you check in control panel on the status of your audio settings?
Open audio devices in control panel. click on advance , then click on the drop down bar and select 5.1 . click apply, then OK then and close it .
post if that does not do it.
First unplug the speakers, and then go to the page of the manufacturer's,.
if you cannot find the disc with the drivers.,and download s new copy of the drivers..
Then install it and then shut down the computer and plug in the speakers.. that should do IT.
HAI,AMP WORKS FINE , CONNACT ANY OTHER TO AMP(CD,DVD,COMPUTER,MOBILE,TV) IN BACKSIDE INAUDIO OR PRE_AMP .THEN SELECT PLAYER TO IN MODE YOU HAVE INSAERTED.THE SOUND IS OK
was the amp hooked directly to the box? You probably rattled the power connections from the circuit board like I did on a PT 800 watt amp.but check amp fuses first.
Probably a poor power connection either where the AC pack goes in to the wall (probably powerbar!) or where the plug from the power pack goes into the unit. Wiggle the various connectors to see which one solves the problem.
As a last resort you may have a faulty power pack (try ask a dealer or friend to test your system on their power pack).
yep but if your not a tech you should take this easy repair to a pro. Your problem is an open emitter resitor and happens when the units over driven or a speaker is bad for a while while it was working. if your a tech then check all of the emmitter resistors. also it could be a bad output device. Good Luck
