First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)

To see if your code is available here  for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

If not then POST A NEW  QUESTION

quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS ,BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING

note: Unfortunately not all radios can be decoded using the Serial Number

Otherwise try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive

Testimonial: "thanks for the info , i will try what you said regards steve"

Code on car radio Astra ccr60

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your vehicle manufacturer's service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

Hi i have a astra cdx with a phillips ccr600 radio that i have just had recoded all comes on including the cd changer. but no sound comes out even though it is displaying the radio station.

If you turn the volume up to maximum and there is NO hiss or noise , then it looks as though your speakers are not connected

Check connectors + wiring

Vauxhall astra radio keeps switching on and off on its own

I had this problem for the last 2 weeks, didn't think much of it, but recently the car radio just turned on and off by itself, it decided to do so whilst the car was switched off and it drained my battery. After doing some tests with the Amp meter and removing the fuses for the radio and infotainment system the amps going through the batter went from about 0.7 to 0.001 (far more accpetable) - so the radio was draining the battery and randomly turning itself on/changing stations and the internal display system had stopped working.

after putting the fuses back in and re-testing the radio worked fine (almost like it had a full reset - no random turning on and off OR changing of radio stations)

the fuse box for my astra was next to the battery under the bonnet (see your car manual - I had lost mine so googled for it)

http://pdfcast.org/pdf/2006-vauxhall-astra-owners-manual-operation-safety-and-maintenance

PAGE (267 or 265)

but it seems yanking the fuses for the radio (FUSE number 35 and 36) seemed to fix it (been a few days and no flat battery) -

It maybe an intermitent fault, in which case i'll have it looked into, but as garages charge an arm and a leg i'd give this solution a go and if your battery is good all you need to do is remove the fuses and put them back after say a minute or so)

Entering Code for Car Stereo

Turn on the ignition, turn the radio off fully. (by preeing the volume wheel knob) press AS or the button that turns it to CD mode (should have circle on button)keep it pressed and turn radio on. wait for a beep then it should be somthing like:

10----------- (10 being the number of tries left)
use buttons 1,2,3 & 4 to input your code. press the button more than once for it to rise higher.

Hope this helped.
BTW i got the same problem with my dads astra. but i dont even know the code :(
