there are 2 of them in the new ones....but ya probably the blew diaphrams...unless they are old one...then it could still be in the crossover..need to know the exact SP2 model you have, as they have changed the speaker again and again over the years.
Do you have electronics experience? Inspect the amp for broken or cold solder joints and any burned components. Check to see if the fuse blew and that the output IC's or transistors (not sure what Crate used in these) are not bad. Check your speaker wire as well.
Check your speakers and Cables. I had some speakers that traveled in my small trailer and the vibrations of the trailer caused the diaphram to back off my horns. Once I got the speakers fixed the DDT light on my power amp stopped staying on so much.
I have the same problem and the same conditions.
The tweeter is good, 3.8 ohms.
Some points of solding (donuts), have bad aspect.
I resolder the power transistors to the PCB and I solve the problem.
