Hello, I believe that the drain pump on my Lg Tromm wm2688hnm washer is broken. I got a message to clean the filter and hose. I did that but I still had the same problem. I found very liitle gunk in the hoses. I proceeded to removed the silver panel from the back of the washer and noticed that a grinding noise was coming from the drain pump as it was in rinse cycle. I also found a small black piece of plastic in the filter the second time I ran a test. Are there 2 drain pumps or just 1? Also, how do I remove the housing of the washer to get to the pump? Thanks

I was actually able to fix this problem by blowing out the drain hose with an air compressor. The drain hose was full of beach sand.

SOURCE: Have a LG Tromm wm2688hnm and is leaking water?
If leaking from the bottom it could be a number of things and you would have to remove the back panel to start. Then do the rinse and spin and using a flashlight try to locate the leak. Have towels handy. For us, in our 5 yr old LG - the bellow (the black large tube connected to underneath the tub) had holes in it. A $10.00 part online.

In all likelihood the rubber drain hose is clogged. I had the same problem with my LG front loader. The hose was clogged with sand and dirt almost the entire length of the hose. The following solution is far simpler than taking the dryer apart to clear the drain hose. Besides I figure this same thing could keep reoccurring with all the sand and dirt we get in our clothes here in East Texas.
I purchased about 4 feet of 3/16 inch OD vinyl tubing and adapted it to fit on the end of a garden hose. The adapter gizmo included a valve so I could control the water flow and not give myself a bath. A picture of the gizmo is included below. Make sure that when you connect the water hose to the faucet that the faucet valve is just slightly opened and that the gizmo valve is closed. Using the gizmo is straight forward. First remove the drain filter and than insert the vinyl tubing in the end of the rubber drain hose and slowly open the valve on the gizmo. Make sure you have a large pan or bucket underneath the drain hose to catch the debris and water. Slowly advance the tubing up inside the hose until it won’t go any further. By this time water will also be running out of the drain filter cavity which will indicate the clog has been removed. Continue back flushing for a few more seconds to assure all the debris has been cleared, than clean up and you’re finished.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
OE is a drain error and is displayed when the
washer is unable to drain water. Please check the drain hose and drain pump
filter for any clogs to clean the error. Please get back to me if you have any
