Try a CD disc lens cleaner (can be found at Radio Shack, Wal Mart, Best Buy). Is it still under warranty? If not try your local TV repair shop for an estimate. But beware most shops do charge a diagnostic fee to look at the equipment. Note: Since these units can be found on the net for about $100 you may come out better with getting a new one.

If the player has a rechargeable battery older than 2 years, it is probably going to need to be replaced. Look at the volts-Ampere-hours rating, and replace with same volts more ampere-hours AH rating.

I just purchased a mini 7" netbook notebook for my daughter ((9) years old, and she put a password on it for when it gets to the start up screen, and she has already forgotten it. what can i do, as i...

Depending on the model of your daughters netbook it may be possible to recover the machine thru another drive that is already on the computer. That drive is called a "recovcery partition" You will need to read all of the information that came with the netbook. You may even be able to contact the manufacter for support at no cost as the netbook is under warranty. Again reading all of the documentation that came with the computer will give you will give you direction. Don't worry there is a solution that will come with little or no cost at all.

NO DISK

There are two possible issues here.
1 - If you are using a burned disc or an unsupported disc (blu-ray, hi-def) sometimes you can get that error message
2 - You have a laser that has been burnt out in your system. If so try contacting the manufacturer for repair

Audiovox D1998 portable DVD player will no long read disc.

This of course may not be the exact same thing, but mine did the same thing. Sounding like it was loading, but in fact pressing the open button it I could see the disc not spining at all (normally you would.) With the power off of course. I took all the bottom screws out (where ever the arrow points to a screw) including to the display. There is one ribbon cable easily disconnected. I lifted the mount the DVD sits on and reseated it. I put a disc in it, turned on the power and the disc turned. Great I thought. I reconnect the cable, put the screws back in - and its working.

Audiovox D1020 DVD player won't read DVD anymore

I have the same problem! The only way to fix this is to replace the motor that spins the DVD. if you take it apart and spin the DVD the movie will play. The motor is just wore out and has no torque to start the play process. I am still looking for a replacement motor for it and haven't found anyone that carries the motor required. Only Audiovox so far and they want 180 to send in and fix.

Look for dust, dirt or foreign object on the laser lens under where you put the disc in. Maybe blow some clean air on it.
