Please format the memory stick using the formatting tool to delete all the contents of the memory stick. This camera does not have the option to select multiple images and then delete them.

if you can not access in order to get picture out memory stick, then take easy way.
you just get a usb external memory card reader and connect to computer. your computer now will recognize as a diver. then you put memory stick into the slot. open my computer and you will see your picture drive and folder. now you can handle whatever you want.
you may use built in memory card reader, too. if you have.

Take the stick to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture kiosk. You can make a cd of the pictures on your stick. Then, format it in your camera.
The sony cyber-Shot Dsc F828 does not work well with memory stick that are more than 2gb. I have used 4gb memory stick, but realised that it failed to record most of my photos. Other are recorded but hard to extract. I would recomed 1gb stick. Keep more than one
You need to check again how you are erasing with the PC.Try opening the the memory stick folder on your pc, and deleting some shots one by one.You should be asked each time to confirm you want to delete.You can then check if they have actually been deleted by looking in your recycle bin.
I don't ever clear the memory stick of my cybershot outside of the camera. After download, I delete with the camera.That way I know my card will stay properly formatted for my camera.
looking at the back of the camera, at the bottom right coner among the switches, there is a button with a waste basket picture. While going through at play mode, you can press this button to delete single picture. Otherwise you can go to menu and format the memory card and erase all the pictures. -James
