I tried to cook a frozen pizza in my Tappan electric range last night (which required it to be preheated to 400 degrees) and it would not preheat at all, even after about a 3 hour wait. I just turned up the heat to round 550 degrees and it still would not cook or preheat. Everything else does work fine, the broiler and range works. Model number: TEF351EWB

Gas Pizza Oven - Heat issues

Many of the Pizza ovens require ceramic plates that line the bottom surface of each oven. These ceramic plates absorb the heat and retain the temperature. I never used our ovens with a bare lower surface, always applied the plates for even heat and distribution.

Crusty Plate is used for frozen foods such as pizza, baguettes quiches, and chicken nuggets. Add the food after preheating and activate the Crusty Cook button for deliciously crunchy results.

Model GBS307PDQ5: Oven preheated to 425 degrees.

F3 usually means, that the oven temp. sensor is bad and one need to replace it.
The fact, that it's not heating tells me, the fuse in the back also needs to be replaced (requires pulling out).

I am attempting to pre-heat oven to 400 degrees but oven heat will not raise above 100 degrees

Hi, Upon reading your post I immediately thought of a bad ignitor for the oven, but I am not sure whether you have a gas oven or a conventional electric range. So...If it is gas, I'd suggest replacing the ignitor for the hot surface ignition. If it's electric the bake element may be at fault although most range's use the broil in the preheat, so it should still climb up to 400, it would just take a really long time. Maybe you can clarify if it's electric or gas and I can try to move you forward from there. Macmarkus :)

Preheat worksoven wont bake

hi The range timer is usually located in the control panel on top of the range. If you suspect the timer is faulty, don't try to fix it yourself. Remove it and take it to a professional service person for testing. Here's how to remove the timer:

Step 1: Remove the back service panel to the control panel and release the spring clips that hold it in position, or remove the retaining screws.

Step 2: Push the timer forward to release it.

Step 3: Remove the electrical lead wires from the timer housing. If, when disassembling the timer, you notice that the electrical wire terminals look burned, remove these leads and buff the leads and the terminal points with fine steel wool. Burned and/or dirty terminals can cause the timer to malfunction, but a good cleaning can solve this problem.

Step 4: Replace the old timer or install a new one of the same size and type, if this is necessary. Connect the new timer the same way the old one was connected.

Amana Convection oven not controlling temp

I have just checked the baking guide in the manual and have found that it may not be us after all. (Maybe this is why they telll us to read the whole manual. Well, I never have) According to the cooking time for Baking, the range is very extensive. For example, an angel cake at 350 could take from 28-50 minutes, buscuits at 375-400 could take 8-16 minutes, layer cakes at 350-375 could take 25-40 minutes, pound cakes at 325-350 could take 45-70 minutes and fresh pies at 400-450 could take 35-60 minutes. Basically, the baking directions on the box means absolutely nothing to use Amana oven owners. We have no choice but to cook our food or baked goods until they are cooked, whenever that may be. :) Linda
