It would not matter the size memory card. What matters is how much you want to be able to store on it. I would recommend nothing smaller than and 8 or 16MB memory card. you can put as little as a 2mg or even smaller but you won't be able to save much at all to that.

Memory card error

When you tried to format, did it complete formatting? If format failed then the memory is bad. Buy a replacement. Format should be completed in the camcorder for it work right.
If format completed, and you can write to and read from the memory card on the PC, then there may be a problem with the camcorder card reader. Try blowing out the card slot with canned compressed air. (Don't use a tire inflator) And gently wipe off the contacts on the card with a QTip dipped in alcohol. Good luck.

I am trying to find a SD card that will work in my Samsung Digital-cam Model: SCD 103. A regular SD card will not fit in the slot on my camera. The manuel just calls for a SD card. I need more details.

The SC-D103 doesn't take SD cards. It takes Sony Memory Sticks and compatibles from third-party manufacturers such as Lexar and Sandisk. Be careful, it will not take Memory Stick PROs.
