I hope this helps. If all of the software that you need is not available, then you will need to contact Samsung UK (see the "Phone" link on the web site) and ask for a replacement CD for your model camcorder.

i would have thought that the setting might have been change on a accident you should take it to a shop and ask them!

As the camera uses miniDv for video capturing , it need to be converted in to digital format through a "firewire card". a Fire wire card is a PCI Card for data transfer. Check whether your system is having the same. If not, you have to buy one. In addtion to that you need a video captutirng software like "Sony Vegas" or "Pinnacle Studio."

YOU CANT CLEAR IT. THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE TAPE TRANSPORT IS BAD. SOMETHING BROKE INSIDE TRANSPORT AND NOW IT WONT ALLOW YOU TO LOAD TAPES

Go to this link it is the manual on page 93 or 97 it will tell you fow to turn off protection.

Mine was doing exactly the same, driving me nuts... Finally, I was trying EVERYTHING, and went into the menu and set the clock and date. I put the tape in, pressed it down where it says to press, the tape loaded normally and As oddball nuts as it sounds, it immediately began to work like normal. I havn't been able to get it to do anything but eject and flash that stupid "R", for months. Hope it helps...
