CD player stops working

Everytime I put a CD into the player it tries very hard to read the disc, but always ends up shut off the player.

Are you using burned discs. If so try burning them at the slowest speed available on your computer, usually about 8x. If your using standard store bought CD's then you might have a lens issue. Try purchasing one of those lense cleaner discs, they have a tiny brush on them that cleans the lens while it spins, they work pretty good.

Car CD Players get dusty from road grime. Buy a CD Cleaning Disc and run it is a couple of times. The laser that reads the tracks is much lower power, and if it can't read the whole tracking system, it ejects the CD. The cleaning disc has little brushes that cleans the optic lenses.

Kirk, I am not aware of any fuse to remove to make player work. Try cleaning the lazer/head. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

Have you tried using a lens cleaner? Could be a dirty laser lens!

Everytime i put in a cd its says no disc and switches back to radio

The problem could be one of these generally which I have faced

1. The disc may not be in the compatible format.
2. The disc may not be playable due to damages.
3. The disc might not have been placed into the tray on the right side correctly.
4. The player lens may need cleaning.

Try resolving the above and it should work.

you could try to power down the radio, by either pulling the fuses or disconnecting the battery. But usually if everything else works, you will need to have the radio replaced or sent for repairs

You listed this in the auto section, so I'm not sure just where you have the problem. When you receive an error like this and you've tried several disks with the same result it means your CD player is bad and must be replaced.

Cd stuck in player says no disc

not always true about sending in for repair. i have a malibu maxx that does the same thing regularly. i disconect the battery let the whole car reset and it should read that there is a disc and work fine, at least for awhile. try it, if not send it in.
