Very loud motor then nothing

The motor became very loud - like an airplane engine. Then it just stopped. What can I do? The Fussnecker Vacuum place I bought it is closed now. I only bought it this past summer.

Sounds like something got into the fan, or the fan broke, stalling the motor. But this should have at least a 1 year warranty on it. In your owners manula, there should be a contact phone number that you can call and find out the nearest warranty repair shop. It may also be on the tag where the model and serial number are.

Motor sounds like a airplane

It sounds like it is time to replace the motor. You might also want to think about replacing the unit itself since the motor can be very expensive in comparison to the cost of the vacuum itself. I would recommend thinking about a different brand like electrolux or hoover.

Why is my central vac. making such a loud noise. It sounds like jet getting ready for take off. It seems to be getting louder. I'm not using it because i'm afraid it's going to explode or...

The bearing or the motor is warn out they last 15 years in the case. In some rare case the brush ware out or the rely can catch fire, most central vacuum are not made to be oiled! Hot oil will catch on fire. Best to unplug the vacuum unit call a few shops and ask replacement motor cost, if you remove the Vac and take to them it will cost less.

Vacuum sounds like an airplane after 1 year of use.

the motor bearings are starting to fail most likely. You can diagnose the source of the noise by removing the brushroll and belt, could possibly be the brushroll bearings but if you still get the noise when the belt is off its the motor.

The vacuum became clogged and motor abruptly stopped, after unclogging vacuum will not power on.

Check the power lines coming into the suppley 9-10 the main feed came loose, you may have to solder the wire back, but there would be a short somewhere, or you ran the it to long while clogged and blew the bendix/motor

LOUD hoover

if this sounds like an airplane taking off, then for your hoover U5288-900 it will have to be the fan that is inside the motor compartment. i have looked at hoover.com and cannot find the part num. to the fan, but i know that you can replace it. you can also get one from your local vac shop. if you do get a fan for this and need help in changing it. write me back if you get stuck. hope this helps

My vacuum is very loud ...

If it sounds really high pitched or like a airplane i would bet your motor is shot in which case it would exceed cost of your unit.
