Eureka true clean vacuum is very loud

When I start my vacuum it sounds like an airplane. It's something with the brush, I think, but I can't figure out what. I changed the belt, but it got louder. If I can't quiet it down, it's gotta go. Still picks up and works just fine though.

SOURCE: belt change for eureka capture

Lie the vacuum down so it's completely flat, the back of it facing up. On the bottom of it, on the grey plastic, there are instructions. They say, to access the belt, remove the screws numbered 1, 2, 3 & 4. Then look at the four corners of the bottom of the vacuum and you'll see these numbers. You may need a flashlight to actually see the screws because a couple of them are pretty deep inside the plastic. Loosen them with a long shafted, Phillips screwdriver. Stand the vacuum back up and the screws should just fall out. Then you can easily pop off the cover to change the belt.

SOURCE: How do I to change the belt on an eureka altima 12?

the belt is on the bottom right (looking at it from the front). the Eureka website does have the manual for download, http://www.eureka.com/service/manuals/80244.pdf

With the vacuum flattened (straightened) out, turn it over and remove the back roller cover, (2 screws) once off, the roller should just pop out on the opposite side (opposite from the belt). Don't forget to turn the roller to center the belt once you have it on.

SOURCE: In Carpet setting, the vacuum brush does not spin

I put 3 turns of electrical tape around the area of the beater bar that meets the vacuum belt. This solved the problem short of replacing the beater bar.

What is the cause of the loud noise in my vaccum it's a eureka boss bagless

If it's a rattling type noise, its possibly something in the fan assembly, including a broken off piece of the fan.
It could also be something loose near the roller brush, including a piece of the belt.

Vacuum sounds like an airplane after 1 year of use.

the motor bearings are starting to fail most likely. You can diagnose the source of the noise by removing the brushroll and belt, could possibly be the brushroll bearings but if you still get the noise when the belt is off its the motor.

My vacuum is very loud ...

If it sounds really high pitched or like a airplane i would bet your motor is shot in which case it would exceed cost of your unit.

Eureka 5197 self propelled bagless upright

Did you check the brush roll when you changed the belt? The smell of rubber would inducate a belt slipping. So if the brush roll (part #61308-2)isn't turning, the belt would get hot and would be slipping. If the motor sounds real loud, then you could have a bad motor(part #60775-4).

Eureka 5849A Boss bagless upright

remove belt to brush roll and see if noise persists. if it stops, you probably need a brush roll. at least doing this will narrow down the fault area
